Jennifer Aniston is struggling to cope following the death of former co-star Matthew Perry according to reports.

Jennifer was seen alongside her Friends co-stars attending Matthew's funeral on Friday and is said to be the most effected of the remaining stars alongside Courteney Cox.

Matthew, who was famed for portraying Chandler Bing in the hit US sitcom, was found dead in his Los Angeles home after he reportedly drowned in his hot tub. The news emerged after a call to emergency services was made about a cardiac arrest. Matthew was later found dead at the scene.

The Morning Show star is said to have been hit hard by the loss and those close to her are now concerned for her wellbeing according to Page Six. Sources have told the publication that Jennifer is "struggling acutely."

The source said: “Out of the remaining five, Jen and Courtney are reeling the most, and Jen is probably the one who is struggling most acutely. It’s a second massive loss in less than a year, with the one-year anniversary of her dad’s death just around the corner. She still hasn’t fully regained her footing from that, and now this has just completely knocked her off her feet.”

Jennifer's father, John Aniston, passed away in November 2022 at the age of 89. Jennifer described him as “one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew," as she announced his passing away.

Jennifer is reportedly trying to pull herself together and get in a better place following the loss of Matthew, with the source confirming: “She is trying to regroup and recover but it’s been a completely devastating blow." Jennifer was seen walking alongside a security guard behind fellow Friends stars Courteney, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc at Forest Lawn cemetery in LA on Friday as they bid farewell to Matthew.

The resting place is just minutes away from the Warner Bros. studios where Friends was filmed for over ten years. Jennifer meanwhile has been seen breaking down in tears during a resurfaced 2004 interview as she discusses the prospect of losing Matthew amid his addiction problems.

Matthew told Diane Sawyer in October 2022 how Jennifer had supported him saying: “She was the one that reached out the most. You know, I’m really grateful to her for that.” He also admitted that he had a crush on her before they began working on Friends together after meeting her three years earlier through mutual acquaintances.

He wrote in his memoir how she had knocked him back gently when he asked her out. He said: “She declined (which made it very difficult to actually go out with her), but said that she’d love to be friends with me, and I compounded the compound by blurting, ‘We can’t be friends!’"
