Strictly's Adam Thomas' wife breaks silence after elimination amid health woes

Strictly Come Dancing's Adam Thomas became the sixth contestant to be eliminated on Sunday night's results show, and his wife, Caroline, has now broken her silence on his sad show exit.

During the episode, the former Emmerdale star, 35, found himself in the dreaded dance-off against Angela Rippon. Both couples, who were in the bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday night, performed their routines again. Angela, 79, and her dance partner Kai Widdrington performed their Waltz to Fascination by Nat King Cole while Adam and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk performed their Rumba to Dancing On My Own by Callum Scott in a bid to impress the judges.

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas unanimously choosing to save Angela and Kai. Adam has faced a series of health woes while on the show – as he revealed that he had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the star was reported to have been 'banned' from rehearsals earlier in the series after he came down with an illness, which saw him bed bound for a few days.

I honestly thought I was leaving in week two and the fact that I’ve got this far I’m so proud of myself, I’ve had an amazing time from start to finish. I came here to learn how to dance and I’ve learned so much more about myself.

I know my kids are at home now probably crying, 'It’s okay – Daddy's okay. I just wanted to teach my kids that it’s not just about winning or losing, it’s about taking part and doing your best. [To Luba] I just want to say thank you to this one and I’m sorry, I wanted to get us to Blackpool."

Following Adam's show exit, his beloved wife Caroline has now shared a gushing post about her husband's dedication to Strictly Come Dancing as she shared her pride.
