Russell Brand accused of 'sexual assault' - 3 months before he wed Katy Perry
Russell Brand has been accused of sexually assaulting an actress three months before he married Katy Perry.
According to the New York State Supreme Court filings, a woman named only as Jane Doe, claims Brand, 48, attacked her in July 2010 on the set of the film Arthur where she was working as an extra. In an affidavit, the anonymous woman claims Brand “appeared intoxicated, smelled of alcohol, and was carrying a bottle of vodka on set” before the alleged assault on July 7, 2010.
She claims he then exposed himself to her in full view of the cast and crew. The woman also alleged Brand, who is yet to respond to the lawsuit, followed her into a bathroom later that day and assaulted her as “a member of production crew guarded the door from outside”.

The former couple said "I do" at an opulent ceremony in India and invited a host of famous faces, including P Diddy, David Walliams, and Jonathan Ross.
However, despite their extravagant nuptials and matching Anuugacchati Pravaha tattoos - which translates to "go with the flow" - the pair split after 14 months into their marriage after Brand broke up with Katy over a text message. It was alleged the comedian, who was aged 36 at the time, was struggling with the singer's superstar fame. Their divorce was finalised in 2012.

The Metropolitan Police is currently investigating multiple sex offence allegations following news reports about the Get Him To The Greek star. In September, the force said it had received a “number of allegations of sexual offences in London” as well as elsewhere in the country.
All allegations are non-recent, and there have been no arrests, police said. Brand has strongly denied accusations made by four women in an investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches.
Katy, who is now in a relationship with actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares daughter, Daisy Dove, has not addressed the allegations against her former husband.
The US legal filing regarding the alleged attacks made while filming Arthur, which premiered in 2011 and stars Helen Mirren and Greta Gerwig, marks the first time such allegations have been made against the British comic in a court of law. The anonymous woman is understood to be seeking an unspecified value of damages from Brand, who has always insisted his relationships "were absolutely, always consensual".
According to court documents, 'Jane Doe' "continues to struggle with the resultant trauma", with her lawyers applying to suppress her identity to minimise the harm she has already suffered. Her legal team also revealed she still works as an actor and "fears retaliation from current and future employers".
