A new lawsuit against Russell Brand alleges that he sexually assaulted an actress in the bathroom of a film set in 2010 in a fresh claim against the entertainer.

While Brand has been previously accused by multiple women who talked about their allegations online and to the BBC, he has denied the claims and said 'that all of his relationships were consensual' - this marks the first legal case against him.

The New York complaint was filed by an anonymous "Jane Doe" and alleges that on July 7, 2010, "I was working on the set of the movie 'Arthur' when the lead actor Russell Brand sexually assaulted me." In the lawsuit, the actress claims that Brand was drunk, "smelled of alcohol, and was carrying a bottle of vodka on set."

"He then exposed his penis to me on set and in full view of the cast and crew," she said, further claiming Brand sat at a table staring at her, "openly and obviously in the presence of everyone on set." The accusations are estimated to take place just months before Brand wed Katy Perry.

Jane Doe claims that Brand followed her into a bathroom after that incident, and forced her to perform sex acts on him. The lawsuit says a member of the production crew was directly outside. The actress said in the lawsuit that after the assault, she"suffered and continues to suffer extreme embarrassment, shame, and fear."

She also cited economic losses due to the assault, as she "had been booked for three days of work on the set, but that after the assault on the first day, she was not called back and was only paid for one day of work."

"I still maintain my career as an actor, and I am terrified of being blacklisted in the industry," she added.

First allegations surfaced earlier this year after a year-long investigation by the press

The previous accusations were put to him by The Times, The Sunday Times, and Channel 4's Dispatches as at least eight previous victims came forward. Just days after the Channel 4 Dispatches and Sunday Times article emerged, more women came forward and accused him of further inappropriate behaviour. The serious incidents are said to have taken place between 2006 and 2013.

One alleged victim claims Brand exposed his "flaccid penis" to her while saying he planned to "f**k her" – which she said would not be happening. Brand later laughed about the incident on his BBC Radio 2 programme alongside co-star, Matt Morgan.

Meanwhile, another victim claimed Russell "ripped her tights" and refused to call a cab for her until she performed a sex act on him. However, she accepted that they had consensual sex, but she later felt "forced and coerced." One woman claimed that after meeting Russell at a gig and later going to his dressing room, he forced her onto a sofa as she attempted to push him off of her to leave.

Following the dramatic claims, Russell took to social media to issue a rant, during which he attacked the mainstream media and pharmaceutical giants. Closing his statement, he said: "I need your support now more than ever, more than I ever imagined I would. So follow me, support our channel if you can, if its within your means, but more important than any of that is that you please, if you can, stay free."

Brand has been questioned by police, no charges have been brought against him.

Russell Brand was allegedly questioned by police nine years ago over claims he sexually assaulted a masseuse and made her feel "like a prostitute." it has been claimed. The woman alleged he "touched [her] in a sexual way" at a £5 million mansion during the 2014 "attack" which she claims left her traumatised. Brand, 48, was reportedly interviewed by police officers in June 2014 following the woman making a formal complaint.

The alleged incident transpired at a £5 million mansion, where the victim reported being subjected to a "sexual way" of contact during a birthday massage she had been hired to perform for Brand. The woman claimed that the experience left her traumatized. Following her complaint, Brand was interviewed by police officers in June 2014. He was accused of sexually assaulting the masseuse during the £500 massage session. Again no charges were brought against him. Brand has always maintained that his sexual relations were consensual.

This episode allegedly occurred two years after separate allegations of rape were reported against Brand in Los Angeles, as recently detailed by the Sunday Times and Channel 4's Dispatches.

Russell Brand is currently being investigated by Thames Valley Police Force after a woman contacted them two weeks ago with "new information".

She came forward with information in relation to reports of "harassment and stalking". In a recent statement, Thames Valley Police said: "This information is being investigated, as such it would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation." It was previously claimed that the woman accused Brand of being a 'sexual predator', according to police logs.

It is understood that she reported her allegations to the force multiple times between 2018 and 2022 but no further action was taken. Brand also accused the woman of harassment against him in 2017.

Partners rush to cut ties with Russell Brand

While he's avoided legal trouble thus far, Brand's agency, Tavistock Wood, has since cut ties with him.

In a statement, lawyers representing the talent agency said: "Russell Brand categorically and vehemently denied the allegation made in 2020, but we now believe we were horribly misled by him." They added: "TW has terminated all professional ties to Brand."

The Trevi Women & Children's Charity in the UK announced it had ended its association with Brand and his charity, the Stay Free Foundation.
