James Blunt hit out at Adele for cancelling her past concerts with less than 24 hours' notice.

The You're Beautiful singer, 49, surprisingly criticised Adele for postponing many gigs in the past few years. Last year, she was in tears when she announced the last-minute cancellation of the start date of her Las Vegas residency. Fans were incredibly disappointed as they spent a lot of money on tickets, flights and hotels to see her.

One fan found out mid-flight that the highly-anticipated concert was cancelled. She spent thousands on non-refundable flights and hotel rooms when Adele broke the news. One fan fumed: "Her lack of notice is astounding. I'm angry and frustrated."

In 2017, she cancelled two shows she was meant to perform at Wembley Stadium and told fans she damaged her vocal cords. And now, a disappointed James shared his thoughts on Adele's history of cancelling gigs last minute. "I think she should have turned up," he told Matt Everitt during a talk at the Emmanuel Centre in Westminster where James was promoting his new book.

As reported by MailOnline, he continued: "People came across the world, paid good money, booked hotel rooms." When Adele cancelled her Las Vegas gig, fans from all over the world shared their disappointment as they revealed how much money they spent to see the I Drink Wine singer perform live.

"I was furious that Adele waited so last minute to make this call. I recognise it's not a call any artist wants to make but she would've known yesterday that the show wouldn't be ready by tomorrow," one person told the MailOnline. Another fan told the publication how he had spent $445 on each ticket, $1,600 on flights and hotel as well as $100 on Covid tests to see the star on her opening night.

"I know I will not be able to get off of work to come back, I know I wouldn't be able to afford to come back. This trip has been a collection of Christmas and birthday gifts plus saving for myself," another concert-goer explained when revealing he had flown from South Carolina.

Adele broke the news in a tearful video shared on social media just 24 hours before opening night. Adele explained how Covid-related issues had forced her to pull the plug on all of her upcoming performances on her Las Vegas tour. "Half my team, half my crew are hit by Covid, they still are and it's been impossible to finish the show and I can't give you what I have right now and I'm gutted," the mum-of-one confessed in the teary video.

"I'm sorry it's so last minute, we've been awake for over 30 hours now trying to figure it out and we've run out of time and I'm so upset and I'm really embarrassed."
