Watch Boots' touching Christmas advert as mum and daughter go on epic quest

Boots' 2023 Christmas advert has officially been unveiled as yet another heartwarming tale.

This year's seasonal ad tells the touching story of a young girl and her mother making a journey to the North Pole to show Santa how much they appreciate him by giving him a gift from Boots. The high street retailer has titled their campaign Thank you, Santa and sees the little girl walk out of Boots asking: "Mum, who gives presents to Santa?"

It sparks a huge adventure for the mum and daughter as they make their way to the North Pole to show Father Christmas how much they appreciate him. Armed with a Boots shopping bag filled with an array of gifts, the pair embark on an epic journey together. They go from their local high street to the snow-capped landscapes of the North Pole.

While on their travels kind strangers help them on their way, from getting help with their broken down car to holding a train so they could get on. In return for their generosity, the little girl gifts a special item from Boots to show their appreciation. By the time they reach Santa, they have just the one gift left.....a pair of Boots Travel Flight Socks, perfect for the big journey ahead of him.

The Christmas film is directed by the award-winning Sam Brown and set to the soundtrack I’m Gonna Get There Somehow by Val Doonican. It will air for the first time on ITV this Friday evening, 3 November. The advert will also run during the Heart Breakfast Radio Show, as part of its long-term partnership with Boots.

Pete Markey, Chief Marketing Officer at Boots said: “At Boots, we want to help customers to celebrate the people who deserve to be appreciated; family, friends, colleagues, or anyone in the local community who has made a difference to their lives this year. Christmas is the perfect time to express our gratitude to others and with our extensive range of great value gifts and amazing offers, Boots really does have something to help make everyone in your life feel valued this Christmas.”

Boots has partnered with The Hygiene Bank for the Christmas period and will donate 100,000 essential hygiene products to the charity. It is set to help provide over 20,000 people with a basic care package this Christmas. Throughout November and December, Boots are also doubling its You Donate – We Donate pledge, meaning that the more customers donate in the 700 donation points across the UK, the more Boots will donate.

Last year, Boots centred their Christmas advert on the annual dilemma of finding just the right gift for the right person, with a magical twist. It starred It's A Sin's Lydia West in the leading role, who finds a pair of magical spectacles on the bus, allowing her to see what brings people joy whenever she wears them, including turning her fellow bus passengers from glum commuters to festive party goers.
