Actor Brian Cox has led the way at the new premiere of a TV series inspired by the stunts and epic challenges inspired by the James Bond films.

The new series '007: Road To A Million' is an epic adventure series following nine pairs of contestants who attempt to win £1 million by competing in James Bond-inspired challenges all around the globe. Coming to Amazon Prime Video, the series has been licensed by legendary James Bond film producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson and is set to be a hit with viewers.

The premiere in London's Battersea Power Station saw actor Brian Cox cut a stylish figure as he appeared on the red carpet to celebrate the new series.

The series premiere also saw the nine pairs of contestants dressed up as they came together to launch the new series.

The series sees nine pairs of participants, including nurses, retired police officers, siblings, friends and a married couple, seek to scoop the prize by answering ten questions set by "The Controller", portrayed by Scottish actor and "Succession" star Brian Cox, and hidden around the world. In the show, Cox watches the contestants from afar face daunting stunts to get to the briefcase carrying their questions, each worth increasing amounts of money.

Actor Brian Fox, who is best known for his role as Roy Logan in Succession, will play The Controller who operates at the centre of the challenges. Speaking in an interview, Brian explained that the role has helped him to tick off a career milestone: "Now I can finally say I’ve been in a Bond production. I’ve never been in a Bond movie, and I always thought I’d be a very good Bond villain."

In the interview, Brian also revealed that his favourite all-time Bond actor is the late Scottish actor Sir Sean Connery. Brian explained: "It has to be Sean Connery. The real James Bond would have been frightfully, frightfully posh, not like Sean at all. So that was wonderful to see. I was extremely proud that another Scot had fooled everybody to such distraction that they cast him in a wonderful lead role, and he brought something unique to it."

The new series comes after Daniel Craig made his final appearance in the Bond film series in 2021, with no sequel actor confirmed for any future films.

007: Road To A Million airs on Prime Video from Friday 10 November 2023.
