Tom Kerridge slammed for Christmas dinner box that comes without turkey
Tom Kerridge has been heavily criticised for the cost of his Christmas Box 2023, with some folks slamming the luxurious hamper as being poor value for money.
The celebrity chef has launched his festive box for this year, which promises to create a delicious Christmas dinner without the hassle of buying ingredients or slaving away in the kitchen.
This year, Tom, has strayed from tradition by swapping the turkey for a handmade Beef Wellington, accompanied by red wine sauce, and full-size Pigs in Blankets. The box also covers dessert, with customers being treated to a traditional sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and Christmas spiced brandy butter. If that wasn't enough to satisfy foodies' sweet tooth, the meal box also includes salted caramel fudge. The cost of the whole delivery box, which serves four people, is £215. Customers will also receive easy-to-follow cooking instructions and bonus recipes for crispy roast potatoes and tasty Brussel sprouts, as well as a gift from the Masterchef star himself.
Fans have been quick to condemn the hefty price tag of Tom's latest yuletide feast, with many calling out the chef for failing to include roast potatoes and vegetables in the box. Others were quick to do the maths on, noting that the cost per person works out to a steep £53.75.
"For the price I was expecting vegetables to also be included," one person raged, while another slammed the box as the "price of a medium sized car." Another joked, "£215? Does he come round and cook it?"

Not everyone had such a negative reaction to the box, however. One person insisted that it "looks gorgeous" while another hailed it as "epic."
Tom also came under fire last year for his Christmas 2022 box, which was priced at £195 and also notably excluded vegetables and roast potatoes. “Completely unaffordable to the vast majority but I’m sure some stuck up plebs will live to brag about how much they’ve been ripped off round the table," one person raged at the time.
"Cost of living crisis and there’s nothing like giving people value for money at Xmas. Well done Tom mate. Was genuinely a fan," another disappointed follower said. He also received backlash for the price of his takeaway Christmas meal boxes in 2020, which included Roast Norfolk turkey with cranberry, chestnut and sage stuffing, carrots, roast potatoes, honey glazed parsnips and cauliflower cheese for £350. Chestnuts and pigs in blankets were also on the menu, as well as Christmas pudding with brandy butter, petit four, caramelised white chocolate pebbles and mince pies.
