Debenhams opens its doors with beauty-packed advent calendar
There's still over a month until the December countdown to Christmas gets underway, but that hasn't stopped beauty brands from launching their boxes of pampered surprises. As the likes of Charlotte Tilbury, Selfridges, and Liberty London calendars fly in demand, Debenhams proves it's still in the game with its 24 Days of Beauty pick.
The seasonal rush of choosing your favourite brand's goodie-filled box is well and truly here and if you're struggling to choose from the array of make-up, perfume, skincare, or lifestyle options, Debenhams may just offer all the right products inside. I was lucky enough to get my hands on it, and as someone who switches between brands, it's right up my street.
- Save £317 on your favourite beauty products with Debenhams 2023 advent calendar
Packed with a selection of staple make-up products, skincare essentials, and aromatics to make your next pamper session feel all the more luxurious, the box doesn't shy away from high-end fancies. Classic 'get ready with me' staples like the Estée Lauder Double Wear mascara, Benefit Porefessional primer, Urban Decay All Nighter setting Spray, and even the poppable retinol drops from Elizabeth Arden are included.
Originally costing £85 the calendar has been dropped to £72.25, a £12.75 saving which when compared to the total value seems incredibly minute. That's because counting up the cost of all the products inside amounts to a whopping £390, a purchase I'd never dream of spending on my daily fix.
Take a peak inside
There's something for everyone. You may see these words flown around left, right, and centre during the advent unboxing season but it's not an overestimate to say Debenham's offers exactly that. As someone who's a Charlotte Tilbury snob when it comes to foundation and a CeraVe lover of skincare, the calendar picks may just sway me.
Boots annual 70% off sale is returning with some deals already availableWithout adding a full list of spoilers the contents include some very well-known brands (hello, Lancome and Stilla) alongside luxurious options which I personally had never heard of before. The florally scented Conditioning Essence from Huxley, worth £46 on its own, is one of these but after pumping a tester amount on my skin it'll be hard not to reach for this. The same goes for the Earth Harbor Calypso, a vitamin C elixir perfect for trapping in moisture before a long day ahead.
A bottle from Mario Badescu is featured too, and no it's not the Drying Lotion that went viral on YouTube back in 2016, skin care lovers can try out the tester size of its Gentle Foaming Cleanser - a pick which may just convince me to buy the 177ml bottle. Another top choice for me is the Revolution Pro Lustre Highlighter, a gorgeous shimmery gold that would add a subtle festive touch to your cheeks or eyes this Christmas.
My next top pick is the All Nighter Setting Spray from Urban Decay, a product I've reached for time and time again and does exactly what it says on the bottle. Amid some fan favourites a few products did surprise me when I opened the clunky cardboard boxes, one being a silk hair wrap - to me what seemed like a last-minute throw-in to fill a box and I'm yet to put to the test, but it may be a winner for popping on top of heatless curls.
Make-up and skincare aside Yankee Candle and Woodwick are also thrown into the mix, two other personal favourites for me which will transform my make-up station into spa-like tranquillity. The Amber and Sandalwood scent from Yankee Candle is my favourite, although I do wish it was on a crackling wood wick. Speaking of scents a nighttime deep pillow spray from This Works is also hidden behind a window.
If the above bundle of scented skincare and top beauty brands takes your fancy you can buy the 24 Days of Beauty calendar here or take a pick from a host of high-end Mirror Choice backed calendars.
