Rebekah Vardy gives first look at injury after 'mocking' Coleen Rooney
Rebekah Vardy showed off her air boot that fans pointed out is very similar to the one Coleen Rooney wore as she hobbled into their Wagatha Christie court case.
The 41-year-old WAG is understood to have broken her left heel after being thrown from her horse. She caught her foot while taking a ride and took to Instagram to confirm her injuries. Uploading a mirror selfie with her right leg strapped, she stood in front of a mirrored wall of her home gym on crutches. Rebekah sported a blue long sleeved top and dark leggings for the snap – giving fans a first glimpse at her moon boot, which appears to have been decorated in a pink hue.
After her return home from hospital, Rebekah captioned the photo: "Happy Days, time to glam the boot up." It didn't take her followers long to remember back to last year when Coleen, 37, walked into the High Court with plastic protection just like Vardy's.
I'm A Celebrity and Dancing On Ice star Rebekah, the wife of striker Jamie Vardy, was thrown from her saddle and dragged along the ground after her left foot got caught in a stirrup. She was rushed to hospital, but provided the update after returning to her home in Leicester.
"Becky was riding a horse close to her home when it got spooked and threw her from the saddle," a source told the Sun newspaper. "Her foot got caught in the stirrup and she was dragged along the ground while it was spinning in circles.
Baby boy has spent his life in hospital as doctors are 'scared' to discharge him"Becky was taken to hospital and after X-rays was told she’d broken the heel on her left foot." The source also claimed she had fractured 'other bones' in her foot, too and has also suffered from ligament damage. While Becky is a confident horse rider the incident is said to have 'left her pretty badly shaken'.
Meanwhile, another source claimed Rebekah is 'aware of the similarities' to Coleen's courtroom look and has 'laughed about it'. Earlier this year, Rebekah was asked if she felt Coleen was 'milking it' during the Wagatha trial by wearing the moon boot, to which she said: "Ohhh I couldn’t possibly [comment]…"
Earlier this year, Coleen said she cannot bring herself to forgive Rebekah for leaking stories about her to the media. "I’m a forgive and forget person; I can’t be bothered with things going on and on,” Rooney told Vogue in an interview for the magazine’s September issue. “But this is obviously different."
Coleen's highly anticipated Disney+ documentary series finally arrived earlier this month, along with some huge bombshells. The series tells the story of Coleen's life from her own perspective as well as from those closest to her. There have been many explosive revelations from the series, including her warning to Wayne, her parents' dislike towards her husband and how she uncovered Rebekah was leaking stories to the press.
When discussing winning the trial, Coleen confessed: "I couldn't process it. It was...I swore and that was the only thing I did. I just swore and I I teared up and it just didn't sink in. Straight away my phone started pinging and messages started to come through. It was a pathetic reason to go to court. I wish we could have settled it. I wanted to settle it. The money was absolutely ridiculous and I might not get all the money back.
"But for me, getting justice for telling the truth is the most important thing. I feel like a massive weight has been lifted. From when the first Instagram post went in the paper to the court case it must be four and a half years. I can now focus on everything that's important to me."
The infamous Instagram post which followed lead Coleen to be dubbed Wagatha Christie, in an homage to mystery writer Agatha Christie. And when asked if she hoped Rebekah would watch the show during the premiere in Liverpool, fellow WAG Coleen said: "That's up to her."
