Fans have praised “protective” Matt Le Blanc for supporting Matthew Perry during an awkward interview.
The 54-year-old, best known for playing Chandler Bing in Friends, was found unresponsive at his home in Los Angeles on Saturday, and his death has devastated millions of his adoring fans. Fellow Hollywood stars, including Gwyneth Paltrow, have paid tribute to Matthew, but there has been no word as yet from his heartbroken Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and Matt Le Blanc.
The group shared a close-knit bond after appearing on the hit US sitcom for 10 years, and the beloved stars reunited in 2021 for a one-off show. During the hotly-anticipated reunion, they revisited the Friends set and recalled fond memories of their time together filming what would become one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time.

Fans have trawled the internet to find their best memories of Matthew, and one unearthed a clip from the reunion, which featured Matthew, Matt and David. The men are sitting alongside each other on high stools talking to a reporter from Entertainment Tonight, and as David was answering questions, Matthew began waving wildly at people off camera.
Hear'Say star quit booze after drunken Friends impressions - to Matthew PerryNot realising he was still in the shot, the 17 Again star was trying to get a group of women to quieten down, but didn’t know that it was his co-stars Jennifer, Courteney and Lisa who were chatting away during a separate interview. Gently nudging him, Matt quietly explained: “Matty, that's the girls doing an interview. You're on camera.”
Matthew looked mortified, and asked the ET reporter: “Are you in a three-shot seeing me do that?” The embarrassed star then laughed, and joked he must have “looked like a crazy person” during the awkward exchange. However, many fans have praised the sweet, long-lasting bond between Matthew and Matt, who played on-screen best friends - and former roommates - Chandler and Joey.
“As his castmates have said over the years, he was ALWAYS looking out for them,” one commented on the video circulating on TikTok. “I love that Matt and David were being kinda protective over Matthew,” another added. “I love how Matt comforts Matthew and make him understand that the girls are also doing the interview,” one wrote.
“I love how the boys backed up Matthew and copied him when he thought he was off camera,” another agreed, while one said the clip showed “you can’t fake decades of friendship. One fan chimed in: “Matt covering his best friend here with genuine love.”
