Conor McGregor and Manny Pacquiao meet days after "kick in the head" threat

Manny Pacquiao met Conor McGregor just days after the UFC legend threatened to kick him in the head.

The combat sports superstars are both in Saudi Arabia tonight to watch Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou's crossover fight which kicks off Riyadh season. Tensions are still seemingly high between the two, who were supposed to meet in a boxing match two years ago that never materialised.

McGregor posted a picture on Instagram of him and Pacquiao speaking with Saudi advisor Turki Alalshikh, the man responsible for flying a who's who of names from the boxing and MMA world to Riyadh for tonight's fight. "Legends unite! What a vision! Bravo The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and His Excellency," McGregor wrote.

Earlier this year, Pacquiao was ordered to pay $5.1million to Paradigm Sports - a sports agency that represents McGregor and several other high-profile fighters. McGregor later alleged that Pacquiao still owed the agency $2.9million in legal fees and he doubled down on the claim in a voice note directed at the Filipino before jetting off to Saudi.

“Where’s my $8million from that court case, Manny Pacquiao? You owe me $8m, Manny. You can appeal all you want, hurry up with your appeal, you owe me that dough, lad. You can’t sign a contract with an agency to represent you and then go and start to do other things like imminently, straight away," McGregor said.

"You only just signed the contract, are you crazy? Are you stupid, Manny? Are you guys stupid? I’ll kick you in the head, in the neck, the inside leg and take you off your feet and drag you by your ankle across the stage. What then? I had Floyd [Mayweather] bent over, I could’ve done anything to him, I should’ve done anything to him. I should’ve shown the world because it’s doing my head in a bit the way the process is.”

Pacquiao caught wind of McGregor's comments as he played down a fight against the Irishman in an interview with MMA Junkie by saying: "Oh. He's not active anymore." McGregor hasn't fought in over two years but returned his first drug test results earlier this week ahead of his planned UFC comeback against Michael Chandler.
