Fans demand refunds as Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou PPV stream goes down

Fans across the world are outraged as Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou's fight stream dropped for almost half an hour, hours before the pair were due in the ring.

The massive clash of heavyweights takes place in Riyadh tonight, with hundreds of millions spent to attract a huge celebrity crowd and sign up both men to compete. Former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou is making his debut against lineal boxing champion Fury, with an expected pay-per-view audience of hundreds of thousands set to watch.

However, broadcast issues caused fans to scramble for refunds from broadcasters, with hundreds taking to social media to complain about coverage. After Martin Bakole defeated Carlos Takam in the broadcast opener, TNT Sports' feed in the UK and a number of others around the world went down, with a message to fans coming across the screen.

"We apologise for the break in transmission and hope to correct the fault shortly," an onscreen prompt read. Mirror Fighting understands that there was a power surge in the venue unrelated to any of the broadcasters carrying the fight and that fans didn't miss any action in the venue as the show was briefly delayed.

Fans have already taken to Twitter in their droves with complaints, with one writing: "If I miss Moses Itauma fight 'cos of this TNT Sports stream going down I'ma be fuming." Another asked "Are we missing the current fight? It better be postponed by a few minutes til this is sorted out."

And many users echoed the sentiments of one who demanded a refund, writing: "I want some money back, what's going on with the coverage." One added that they "Paid for the fight and it’s crashed." Another added "Missed about half hour of the undercard already. Absolutely awful service. Won't be using again."

The event is one of the biggest of the year, and has attracted a number of major names to Saudi Arabia including the likes of Conor McGregor and Israel Adesanya. It is expected that rapper Eminem will perform before the main event, which takes place at a separate indoor venue to the undercard.
