British holidaymakers looking to party all night with cheap drinks and few rules are swapping the Costa Brava for a new unexpected destination.

People have traditionally headed to Magaluf, Benidorm and Amsterdam, but because of raucous behaviour the Spanish and the Dutch governments have cracked down on "nuisance tourism." Now Bulgaria, perhaps previously overlooked for partying, has gained popularity thanks to its incredibly cheap holiday deals, according to the Star.

A recent six-part series on E4 called Emergency On Sunny Beach shows the true extent of British partygoers' behaviour, with police saying they are troublemakers. Throughout the show, young women strip their tops off showing for a free go on a fairground ride and in bars and restaurants, lads play drinking games and strip naked or pass out unconscious from too much alcohol.

One young man, Mason, 21, from Essex, heads on a bar crawl, telling the documentary: "I’m 21, a young buck, I’ve got a lot of goals. I’m going to make Sunny Beach my oyster. I want to s**g a MILF and s**g a load of foreign birds because I love foreign birds." The Balkan town of Bankso has been nicknamed "Blackpool abroad", with around 100,000 Brits heading there per year in search of cheap pints and blazing sunshine. The Sun reports that there are 80p pints, bars that sell Viagra jellies, and all-you-can-drink nights for just 30 euros (£26) — about the same cost as a hotel room.

Two young women from Edinburgh in the documentary, caretaker Demi and student Holly, both 20, are filmed with cuts and bruises all over themselves. Demi says: "Lesson learnt: Don’t give anyone a piggyback when you’re drunk and don’t run when you’re doing it because you’ll have to pay a lot of money. Oh, and take out insurance." Demi gets the words: Smoke weed every day" inked in Arabic across her thigh, while Holly gets a butterfly on her tricep. Demi says: "I can’t speak Arabic but it’s started a few conversations by the pool. If my family asks, then I’ll just say it says, ‘Live, laugh, love’."

Club Viking owner Tsvetan Florov, 30, tells the TV documentary: "The young British lads are like wild animals. People try to have sex in the club. Someone’s going to be lucky — that’s why we also give away condoms so they can practise safe sex." Dillan, 19, from Hampshire, blew a grand in a strip club on his first night and he and pal Ollie say they have "no ambitions other than to come home in one piece." Another holidaymaker, Ruby, 18, of Herts, says: "I don’t think you can come to Sunny Beach with a boyfriend. If you do, you’re going home without one."
