Gaz Beadle shared an Instagram post about his wife, Emma McVey, that confused his fans just weeks before their shock split was revealed.
The 35-year-old reality star - who featured on MTV’s Geordie Shore from 2011 until 2017 - stunned fans on Monday when he announced his marriage to 31-year-old Emma was over after just two years. The couple had first started dating in 2016 and welcomed two children together; a son named Chester who was born in January 2018 and a daughter named Primrose who arrived in December 2019.
And while the pair frequently posed for loved up photos together on social media, fans began to grow curious when they stopped sharing loved up snaps in mid-September. Indeed, the last photo Gary shared of himself and Emma was on 13 September to commemorate her birthday.
His post sparked surprise at the time as he may have hinted he and Emma were not living together - and also confused fans for suggesting she got ID’d to prove she was older than 16. Uploading a snap of them posing beside a stretch of open water, Gary wrote at the time: "Happy bday to the best mummy and wife see you soon... Don’t look a day over 20. Love how you still get ID’d for a can of Monster."

While the age limit may be 16, many stores carry the guideline of ID-ing anyone they suspect of being under the age of 25.

On Monday, Gaz shocked fans when he shared news that he and Emma had called time on their marriage. He took to Instagram on Monday to interact with fans and sat through a Q&A session.
He set out his call for questions, writing: “Charging car having a coffee fire away” - with the window then open for followers to ask him any questions they liked. One curious fan sensitively asked: “It’s personal, but are you & Emma still together? You 4 are a lovely family to follow!”
Gary’s reply was nothing short of devastating as he revealed he and Emma had called it quits at the beginning of the month. He wrote in reply: “Hey no we actually separated about 3 weeks ago we are still friends there is no bad blood or anything and we have worked out the best way of doing it for the kids which for me and Emma is always gunna be the most important thing.”
He added: “We both deserve to be happy as well as being parents.” The TV star then went on to hint he would stay close to his soon-to-be ex-wife and their children so he can easily be part of their lives.
Asked if he would move back to Newcastle, having moved to Leeds for his wife, he said: “I can't be too far away from the kids so I'll probs be looking like an hour radius, as I think Newcastle will be too much of a travel with them weekly and during the week.”
