Love Island's Will Young addresses feud with Tom and Casey after huge fallout
Love Island star Will Young has broken his silence about his controversial falling out with fellow contestants Tom Clare and Casey O'Gorman.
Will, Tom and Casey were close friends during their time on Love Island earlier this year when they took part in the ‘winter’ edition of the show which ran from January through to March. But the 27-year-old farmer seemingly had a major falling out with 24-year-old Tom and 26-year-old Casey.
During his time in the villa, Will fell for 27-year-old bombshell Jessie Wynter - but Tom and Casey spoke unkindly about her and her feelings for Will behind their backs. With all the conversations of Love Island being caught on camera, it wasn’t long after the show that Will learned what his friends said and he subsequently unfollowed them online.
Will and Jessie are still going strong seven months after the conclusion of the show, and they are living together on his farm in Buckinghamshire. Now the reality star has opened up about his falling out with Tom and Casey - and the attention he drew by unfollowing them online.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Will claimed he felt happily distanced from the drama of the online upset. He told the magazine when asked about the scandal: “To be quite honest, I keep myself to myself and me and Jessie keep ourselves very close to the farm so we didn't really see too much of an impact when unfollowing Islanders or anything like that. To be quite honest we didn't really think about it all that much. We're just in a very happy place on the farm and we've both got some really exciting things coming up so we're just focusing on ourselves.”
Love Island's Haris spills on unaired row between Zara and TanyelHe also hinted that he had been more authentic in the villa than some of the other contestants. Asked what advice he would give future contestants, he said: “Just be true to yourself. If you know you're 100% being yourself, you're not going to get everyone's approval. Everyone's going to have an opinion, but as long as you stay true to yourself, that's ultimately what matters.”
The drama stemmed from an argument that kicked off in the Love Island villa back in the thick of winter. While Will and Jessie fell for each other on screen, Tom and Casey claimed the Aussie beauty was “faking” her feelings for Will.
Will confronted the pair in the house - and viewers then saw Casey lie about what he really said about the couple behind their backs. And then, months later in August, Love Island fans noticed that Will had unfollowed Tom and Casey - and they both had stopped following him online in retaliation.
Fans also noticed that the trio had stopped hanging out in public together and that Tom and Casey enjoyed spending time together while Will was nowhere to be seen in their social media posts. But Will and Jessie seem to be having plenty of fun without the boys - and recently took in an England V Australia football match together.
