Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams has been fined $50,000 (£41,000) by the NFL after he was involved in a second sideline incident this season.

The league reviewed footage from the Seahawks' clash with the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6 before making their decision to punish the 28-year-old. According to CBS Sports, Adams received the fine due to an incident involving an unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant (UNC) in the bench area during his team's 17-13 loss.

The NFL determined that he had "inappropriate physical contact" with a concussion doctor as he directed verbal remarks toward them. The medical professional had been leading Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo to a blue medical tent to be assessed late in the third quarter.

Essentially, his teammate took a big hit from Bengals safety Dax Hill following a 20-yard reception, which led to a penalty being awarded for rough play. Bobo had appeared unscathed following the hit in question but he would be removed as a precaution before returning to the play.

Footage appearing to show the incident in question was posted on the Seahawks' YouTube channel, as part of a wider recap entitled " 2023 Seahawks All Access." In this video, Adams is briefly shown shouting the phrase "He good!" repeatedly as the medic and Bobo walk by.

In the footage in question, the Seahawks star is not seen making any 'contact' with either individual. That said, the NFL has not actually specified what video footage they had reviewed of the incident involving Adams.

This is the second incident in as many weeks involving the safety and a UNC, with the former having also yelled at a doctor during the Seahawks win over the New York Giants. In that instance, he was seen shouting on the sideline after he had been ruled out of the game with a concussion.

Adams eventually released an apology to the medical professional for his behaviour but he would escape any disciplinary action on that occasion. It is not thought that the NFL took this into consideration when issuing their fine for the Week 6 incident and he is not considered a "repeat offender."

His apology read: "First and foremost, I want to apologize to the OG. You did everything right when you realized I was concussed, I apologize for any negative energy I brought your way.

"Watching the replay, I am thankful for your patience knowing I wasn't myself in that moment. You're a real one and you serve a great purpose that benefits the NFL and so many players. Prioritizing players' health is essential. Much respect to you!"
