Mick Jagger's wild love life - affairs, threesomes, and age-gap fiancée

Mick Jagger's love life has made headlines for decades, with the Rolling Stones rocker famed not just for his music but for his many girlfriends and affairs since rising to stardom in the sixties. The 80-year-old musician has been married twice, has eight children and it's estimated he's slept with 4,000 women, according to his biographer.

Though Mick appears to have settled down since meeting long-term girlfriend ­Melanie Hamrick, 36 - whom he reportedly proposed to earlier this year and shares his eighth child, Deveraux, six, with. As the rock band's new album Hackney Diamonds is released today, we take a look back at Mick's wild romances and former flames over the years.

Christopher Andersen, author of Mick's biography, told Interview magazine in 2021 that he estimates Mick has bedded 4,000 women "over the course of his life". Mick married his first wife, Bianca Perez Mora Macias in 1971 and they were together for seven years before they divorced. He proposed to supermodel Jerry Hall the year after and they had an unofficial marriage ceremony in Bali, Indonesia, in 1990 - which was later declared void. Mick has kids with Bianca, Jerry and his current fiancée Melanie, as well as with actress Marsha Hunt and model Luciana Morad Gimenez.

'Cream of all the women'

Earlier this year, singer Dana Gillespie spilled on her fling with the iconic star back in the 1970s. She told the Mirror the pair had "fun and games" together but insisted "nothing was ever serious", instead describing their romance as "one of those things". Dana first met Mick when she was hanging out with David Bowie and his then-wife Angie Bowie - with whom she has previously admitted to having a threesome with.

Mick and Dana enjoyed some wild nights together as they spent time in New York with Bowie and Angie. "We were all in New York and I had a small fling with him. I would never call it a love affair. It was one of those things that happens," Dana said. "You know, he's always had an eye for the girls, even in Mustique, if a good-looking, young girl, I've got to say usually under 20-25, walked across the dance floor you'd know where his eyes would be going. Having said that, all the band would do exactly the same thing. He's very lucky. He's had the cream of all of the women."

Wild threesomes

In 2022, soul singer PP Arnold admitted to having a threesome with Mick, recalling how the pair would often be joined in bed with his then-girlfriend Marianne Faithfull. In her book Soul Survivor: The Autobiography, the soul singer said: "I was not a groupie, I was an artist, and I was picking and choosing who I wanted to sleep with. And I was crossing a very taboo line as a Black woman. Mick Jagger was cool, he was a busy boy, he's fun, and he was very kind to me."

She went on: "I wasn't really into women, it was a nice experience, it was cool and she was sweet, but I was into Mick." The artist, whose real name is Patricia Ann Cole, revealed how Mick became a friend and a lover, and said she became pregnant by him, then made the devastating but mutual decision to have an abortion. Although infatuated, she insists she knew their fling would never go further, not least because of their mixed-race relationship.

She said: "I am not proud of abortion on any level. If I'd had this consciousness when I was younger I probably wouldn't. I did not come to England to have a baby with Mick Jagger. I told Mick, 'I'm really, really sorry to lay this on you but I'm ­pregnant, what are we going to do about it?' We both decided the best thing was an abortion. Mick was upset – but he didn't come back from his holiday. He sent me flowers, he called me every day."

'Totally rock 'n' roll'

Rae Dawn Chong previously spilled of her love affair with Mick, which allegedly took place when she was just 15 years of age, with her urging that "he did nothing wrong". Speaking to Daily Mail, Rae claimed: "He never asked me how old I was and I never told him. It never came up. I remember thinking he was really cute. He had tousled hair. I thought, 'Oh man, he is beautiful'."

The actress went on: "He did nothing wrong. He didn't make me do anything I didn't want to do. It was the 1970s, a different era. I wasn't a victim. I don't want him to get into trouble about this. It wasn't traumatising. I knew what I was doing. I wasn't an innocent schoolgirl. I always acted a lot older than I was. I was a grown-up at 15."

She then swooned over the rocker and gushed over his "great lips" and how good of a kisser he was. She added that in her brain, he wasn't "that much older" than she was at the time. "He was 33 and young and gorgeous with a nice body. It wasn't a bad thing, it was fabulous. Totally rock 'n' roll," she added. Rae then urged that it didn't traumatise her, but instead empowered her.

This summer, Mick and Melanie - who have a 44-year age gap - sparked speculation of their engagement when Melanie was spotted wearing a 'promise ring' on her engagement finger. But pals said the former ballerina - who met Mick in 2014 - has admitted they are engaged. A source said: "Melanie was at the American Ballet Theatre and she was telling her friends she was engaged to Mick. She was very clear her ring is an ­engagement ring and she is now his fiancée. Her family also very much understand them to be engaged and are thrilled."

Quizzed on her ring previously, Melanie told People: "I have to giggle because did Mick give me the ring? Yes. Is it for that finger? Yes. But are we like horny ­teenagers where we're giving each other... In my mind, it's a promise ring. We'll be immature and call it a promise ring." As for any future wedding plans, she said: "I don't know. I'm kind of like, a live-in-the-moment type of person, so who knows."
