A Channel 4 show that was axed last year as part of the broadcaster's cost-cutting measures could be set for a dramatic return to our screens.

Find It, Fix It, Flog It was given the boot 12 months ago after seven series, which prompted a huge outcry from disappointed fans. Now, however, the home renovation and lifestyle show fronted by Henry Cole and Simon O'Brien is in talks for a comeback.

The programme, which sees Henry and Simon travelling across the country to restore unusual items in people's homes, last aired in August 2022 in its longest season to date - an impressive 30 episodes. The fact that viewing figures were up too made its demise all the more surprising.

Henry, 58, appears to have taken that disappointment on board though and has begun negotiations via his own HCA Entertainment company to resume the show. HCA co-produced the original run alongside indie production company, Yeti, who are not part of the new discussions.

It's unclear at present whether the show's reprise would involve Channel 4 or a rival broadcaster, but an announcement could follow shortly if a recent Instagram post is anything to go by - the show's first social media update in a year.

In an appeal to find new people to appear on the show, it read: "Automotive enthusiast Henry Cole and Up-cycling guru Simon O’Brien will soon be off gallivanting around the UK in search of your interesting and unwanted items that they can restore and repurpose in an attempt to add value. If you have a shed, garage, outhouse full of no-longer-required items and are interested in taking part in our show, we would love to here from you."

One excited fan responded: "Can't wait, thank you Henry for teaching me how to correctly use a rattle can. And thank you Simon for showing us anything is possible with a bit of imagination." Another added: "My family loves your show."

A third wrote: "Woohoo! I love this show x." And a fourth said: "I will be watching. Love you guys."

Host Simon rose to prominence in the early 1980s, starring as Damon Grant in Liverpudlian soap, Brookside. He went on to present BBC football show, Standing Room Only before moving across the Atlantic after being cast in the American sitcom, Out All Night. In more recent times he has guest starred in Coronation Street as Weatherfield's Frank Bardsley.
