Amazon Prime Video is days away from launching the next chapter of hit sci-fi comedy, Upload. Created by Emmy-winning writer Greg Daniels – creator of The US Office, Parks and Recreation and King of the Hill – Upload is set in a technologically advanced future where holographic phones, self-driving vehicles, AI assistance, and 3D food printers are the norm.

Most uniquely, humans can choose to be uploaded into a virtual reality afterlife where they can enjoy all the comforts of a world-class resort. Upload proved a huge hit when it launched in 2020 and currently boasts an impressive 94 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes – with its second season bagging a perfect 100.

What is Upload season three about?

The latest season of Upload picks up with Nora and freshly downloaded Nathan as they navigate their relationship, while racing to stop the mysterious conspiracy that threatens to destroy millions of lives. Can they shut down Freeyond, and finally have a real life together? Or is it just a matter of time until Nathan’s head explodes?

In the virtual afterlife of Lakeview, a backup copy of Nathan has been activated and Nathan’s ex-girlfriend Ingrid is not about to let this second chance at love slip away. Back in the real world, Aleesha rises through the ranks of Horizen by managing AI education, and falls into a new romantic relationship.

Meanwhile, Luke, all alone in Lakeview, is forced to come up with the funds to pay for his stay in paradise, driving him to work in The Grey Zone.

Who is in the cast of Upload season three?

Season three sees the return of Code 8 and The Flash star Robbie Amell as Nathan, a dead app developer who had his consciousness uploaded to Lakeview. Chicago Fire’s Andy Allo reprises her role as Nora, Nathan’s customer service rep, guide and friend.

They star alongside Kevin Bigley as Lakeview resident Luke, Zainab Johnson as Nora’s colleague Aleesha, Allegra Edwards as Ingrid and Space Force’s Owen Daniels as A.I. Guy.

When is Upload season three released?

The third season of Upload premieres with a two-episode drop on Prime Video on Friday, October 20. Two new episodes will drop every Friday until the finale on November 10.
