Tyson Fury 's dad John has promised to call Mike Tyson a "traitor" to his face at his son's upcoming fight against Francis Ngannou.

Fury and Ngannou are set to kick off Riyadh season in Saudi Arabia when they meet in a crossover fight next weekend. Tyson will be in Ngannou's corner for the fight as he joined forces with MMA coaches Eric Nicksick and Dewey Cooper to help train the former UFC heavyweight champion for the fight.

John named his son after 'Iron Mike' and has voiced his admiration for the youngest heavyweight champion in history on several occasions. He isn't too happy about Tyson being in the opposing corner and even called for a fight against him by telling Fight Hub TV : "Me? Mike Tyson, I’m going to the top of the tree and he’s a traitor, and I’m going to tell him so in Saudi next week. Next week, he’ll be told."

Fury's dad even claimed that he would be prepared to fight Tyson on the spot as he told Mirror Fighting : "You watch, there will be no backward steps here from this kid. Nobody is bullying me and I'm not bullying them. I will stand, look at any man in the eye and say 'Listen, let's get it on, if you want to fight me I'm feared of no man'.

"The only thing I'm feared of in my life is God almighty, if you've got two arms two legs and a head, I'm not frightened of you. Never, I've faced men with ammunition today on my own never mind fists and feet. Fighting, I love it. If I get knocked out, I'll come round with the blessings of God, brush myself down and jump back on the horse. Then look for another fight down the road that I can win."

Fury's WBC belt won't be on the line in the crossover fight because Ngannou is not ranked by the sanctioning body. 'The Predator' parted ways with the UFC at the beginning of this year in the hopes of securing a big-money boxing fight against the likes of Fury and Joshua. Ngannou is also set to make his MMA debut for the PFL in their pay-per-view super-fight division next year.

Ngannou plans on spoiling Fury's pencilled-in undisputed fight against fellow heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk as he sent a chilling warning to the Brit before their showdown. "I don't know what's the minimum medical suspension in boxing, but I really don't understand how Tyson can fight in December after what's going to happen on October 28," he wrote.
