My Mum, Your Dad hopefuls can now apply as second series is confirmed
As the love story between Rodger Hawes and Janey Smith unfolded on the last series of My Mum, Your Dad it may have led others to believe that they too could find love later in life.
And now with the confirmation of a second series underway, the casting is now open for applicants. Hosted by legendary presenter Davina McCall, the last series of the popular ITV show was billed as a version of Love Island for mature people. Nominated by their children, a group of single parents head to a lavish country retreat in a bid to form a connection and walk away from the experiment loved-up.
Hopefuls can now apply for second series of My Mum Your Dad (ITV)Applications are now open for young people to nominate their single parents hoping to find love, and can be found here. ITV's website states: "ITV1 are looking for dynamic parent and kid duos to take part in a new Series of My Mum Your Dad, a relationship show which sees single parents spend two weeks looking for love in a romantic countryside retreat. This is the only show where single parents are helped on their dating journey by their grown up kids as they watch and guide them from a surveillance room down the road. If you trust your kids to help you or if you are desperate to see your parent find love, we want to hear from you."
The debut series attracted an average of 1.7million viewers and so it's perhaps safe to say that there will be an influx of people wanting to appear on the second series. When potential contestants head to the ITV website to apply, they are greeted with a message that reads: "ITV1 are looking for dynamic parent and kid duos to take part in a new Series of My Mum Your Dad, a relationship show which sees single parents spend two weeks looking for love in a romantic countryside retreat."
It added: "This is the only show where single parents are helped on their dating journey by their grown up kids as they watch and guide them from a surveillance room down the road. If you trust your kids to help you or if you are desperate to see your parent find love, we want to hear from you."

Paul Mortimer, ITV Director of Reality and Acquisitions, said: "The positive reaction to series one was unprecedented in my experience. From widower Roger finding new love, to the grown-up kids cringing in the secret Bunker as their parents dusted down their dating moves, this was a fresh and welcome take on TV matchmaking. I'm so pleased to be able to once again open the retreat to more single parents in 2024."

Janey and Rodger's love blossomed in record time for all to see as it didn't take them long to become embraced in a passionate kiss while on their picnic date. Rodger who lives in Derbyshire joined the experiment with the hope of finding a best friend and lover after being unlucky on dating apps. And Janey, who is a singer from West Sussex, was nominated by her 19 year old son William. He jokingly admitted at the time: "It’s getting a bit desperate now! We need a good chance of getting her to find someone." And when the pair attended the Future Dreams Fundraisers in support of breast cancer research, last week, they were spotted looking incredibly loved-up.
