Strictly's Angela Rippon suffers wardrobe malfunction as pro comes to rescue
Strictly Come Dancing's Angela Rippon was helped by pro dancer Kai Widdrington on Saturday night after she suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.
During the latest episode, the presenter, who turned 79 earlier this week, left the judges "in shock" with her "gorgeous" Rumba to Conchita Wurst's Rise Like a Phoenix with pro partner Kai, 28. However, before the feedback, Angela suffered a wardrobe malfunction as she was helped by both Kai and host Tess Daly. Angela's shoe had come unfastened as Tess, 54, exclaimed: "Is that your shoe, honey?" as Kai bent down to sort it while Angela almost lost her balance.
Tess then held Angela's arm, telling the audience: "Wardrobe malfunction, nothing to worry about! It's just the shoe!" Viewers were quick to praise Kai for being a "gentleman" and helping Angela. Taking to social media, one person said: "Kai just being a total gentleman. Love him #Strictly!", a different account put: "Aww Kai is such a gentleman #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing" while another viewer added: "Kai is lovely, isn't he."

Shirley, 63, said of the routine that it was "beyond me", adding: "I just loved it... I'm in shock, it was beautiful, well done!" Angela was left in awe over the feedback, joking that the comments were "off the scale". The duo scored an incredible total of 31.
Strictly Come Dancing fans were left equally impressed with the routine as one person said on social media: "This woman is frankly amazing. Angela Rippon. 79 this week. #strictly", a different account put: "I’m sorry but I’am obsessed with Angela Rippon #strictly", another follower wrote: "When I grow up I want to be Angela Rippon #strictly", a different viewer said: "Angela is just incredible! #Strictly" while another added: "What an amazing Rumba and what an amazing women. Just incredible and age is obviously what you make it. Well done Angela and Kai #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."

It comes as Nikita Kanda and Gorka Marquez were eliminated last week as they became the second due to leave the BBC One dance competition. The professional dancer, 33, was paired with BBC Asian Network radio star Nikita, 28, in this series, after reaching the final in 2022 with Helen Skelton. The pair performed a jive for movie week themed around Clueless, but their performance did not impress the judges, earning them just 21 out of a possible 40 points, including a low score of 4 from Craig Revel Horwood.
