Kieran Hayler has revealed his mental health woes since his split from his ex-wife Katie Price.

The 36-year-old ex-husband of Katie, 45, was in tears in June this year when discussing the difficulties of not seeing his children as often as he would like.

Now, in an exclusive interview with the Mirror, Kieran has revealed his own struggle has inspired him to support the campaign to see a Minister for Men in Parliament – which he hopes would raise awareness and support for mental health and other issues.

Speaking about the issue of co-parenting close to his heart, Kieran said in an exclusive interview with the Mirror: "[Issues] like, dads not being involved in their children's life – some of the facts I was putting out there; that one in three children never see their dad again when their parents separate – that's massive, that's huge. That means over 3 million children in the whole of the UK don't have a father in their home or have like a fatherless home. Those figures themselves are shocking, I think that's really shocking.

"And especially when there are dads out there that want to see their children and they have to fight so hard to see them."

Kieran has sought support through Fathers 4 Justice, which he says have been a "massive help" for him. He says: "I definitely would advise any men reading this to get in contact with them if they're struggling because they can help and they will help."

The dad went on: "Nobody actually campaigns or is representing male problems as such in Parliament whereas, for women, there is a woman that campaigns for women's equality, rights for women in certain jobs and pay and things like that."

Last month, Kieran shared a candid video on his Instagram page in which he explained why he believes the UK needs a Minister for Men and was bowled over at the reaction from his fans – especially his female followers.

"It's funny because actually, when I look at my messages when I first put the video out, I had about 2,000 messages in my inbox and going through them all only two of those messages were men the rest of them are all women backing me, which is quite a shocking factor really, because you would think all the woman would be like, ‘that's so sexist, you’re doing this…’ and actually, they agree with me that actually there isn't somebody that looks out for like men [in terms of] male suicide, jobs for men in certain areas," he says.

Sharing his own struggles with his social media followers, Kieran released a tearful video in June and has now detailed how not seeing his children as much as he would like is taking a toll on his mental and physical health.

"100% it affects my mental health, [but] I've never, ever had suicidal thoughts that doesn't even come into my mind," he says.

Dad Kieran adds how, while he has never had suicidal thoughts he can understand why men end up taking their own lives: "I can see why dads give up being on this side of the playing field".

Kieran claims: "Even for myself, the stress going through this; I've had the worst back pain and I went to the doctors and I was talking about some of the things that are going on and he [the doctor] went, ‘have you ever thought that maybe the stress that is going through you can affect your body the way that it has’."

"I'm putting everything to do with Jett and Bunny ahead of my own personal wellbeing," the dad adds. "I find sometimes I just sit there and I’m staring blankly because all I'm doing is thinking about, ‘What can I do next? When am I going to see them? God, I miss them so much’, the thoughts that go through your head all the time, constantly thinking about it – as well as also raising a family with Michelle separately from that, so the pressures [...] is horrible, really."
