'I went to TK Maxx and found incredible candles that are better than WoodWick'

For weeks my cousins and friends have been telling me I need to rush down to my nearest TK Maxx as they allegedly have the best range of candles and home fragrance on their shelves at prices that are a little bit more palatable. As someone who splurged on the Overose Pain au Chocolat candle and always picks up a new option from George Home when doing my food shop I felt that it was only right to see if it could live up to expectations.
It often seems that in America they really take scented candles a little more seriously than here in the UK, with Bath & Body Works having extensive seasonal ranges and DW Home doing the same.
I've went so far as using a service to ship candles from the US over to England so I was thrilled to find out there might be an option closer to home that doesn't break the bank.
On arriving in TK Maxx I searched through the store but I was thrilled when I stumbled across a selection of DW Home candles. I'd heard that the brand was popular with Molly Mae and with a celebrity fanbase I knew I had to see if it could live up to the hype.
There was only a small selection in store which I found slightly disappoint as I'd hoped to get my hands on the Leather Bound book candle and Vanilla Chai range. But I was thrilled to see Halloween scents and more excitingly candles shaped like coffee mugs with really sweet scents inside.

There were scents of coffee but my favourite had to be the Pumpkin Glazed Donut scent which was sweet without being overpowering. It reminded me a lot of Bath & Body Works signature sweet scents, you can buy them at Next but the price is so high that it makes it somewhat off-putting - especially with how often there are offers in the US on the popular candles.

I really liked the scent Calming Waves which manages to meld together wood, citrus notes and musk to provide a really clean and relaxing scent at the same time. While stock levels aren't always high on the TK Maxx website, there's a huge range of DW Home candles available on Notino.
I was overall quite impressed with the range and had to resist walking out with a bag full of candles, although between myself and my friend we did leave with five. In the end I bought only one candle from DW Home's Charming Farmhouse range, it was £7.99 and a slightly smaller size than is available online.

I like this range a lot because they often have recipes on the jars but I opted for Vanilla Brulee which had a wooden crackle wick. The cheapest I've ever seen a Woodwick candle is £22 so to nab one for £7.99 is a bargain, although it doesn't have the Charming Farmhouse signature recipe on the jar.
Although I have splurged on candles in the past I do tend to only shop candles under the value of £10 so I was thrilled with this one, it smells delcious - gourmand without being overpowering and I'm excited to light it and read alongside the noise for a cosy autumn weekend.
