Inside Sugababes star Heidi Range's glam home with £500k red Ferrari in lounge
Musician Heidi Range has given fans a peek inside her ginormous and glamorous Chelsea home on model Abbey Clancy's new ITV series, Abbey Clancy: Celebrity Homes, which aired on Thursday. The former Sugababes star revealed that the property was once a laundry factory in London and has now been converted into an incredible family home.
"As I walked in, I was greeted by the biggest chandelier I've ever seen," Abbey, 37, who is married to former England football Peter Crouch, says. "It was a huge open space but quite surprisingly, felt warm and cosy." However what Abbey surprisingly fails to spot at first is the shiny red Ferrari Dino 246 GT, worth approximately £500,000, locked in a glass box on display in the living room.
Liverpudlian Heidi, who has a new single out with Sugarbabes, When the Rain Comes, explains that she's a fan of "bold colours, prints and loves art deco", and roped in the help of an interior designer to make the peculiar-shaped building feel homely. The open-plan downstairs living area boasts a children's den, modern kitchen and large lounge with plush sofas. The popstar has lived there with her property developer husband, Alex Partakis, and their two daughters, Aurelia and Athena, for six years after buying the building two years prior. It was a three-floored empty warehouse when they first got the keys.
She has lots of peculiar and treasured items around the house, including a sex toy owned by model Caprice. Another possession sends Heidi to tears, as she introduces Abbey to an angel ornament sitting high on her huge bookshelf that comes with its own ladder. "Up here, I've got a little angel - she was an ornament from my nan's garden," she explains as she starts to get emotional. "My nan was like a second mother to me. And so that's one of the things I got to keep of hers. The day we moved in the first box I opened an angel was in it. I put it up over there and said, 'she's watching over the house'."
The second floor has a calm bedroom and a luxurious black and white tiled bathroom, which was inspired by the Savoy Hotel, where she would often stay with her husband. "Our bedroom is quite minimalist but it makes it quite a calm space. We've got a lot of trinkets around the house, so I quite like that the bedroom is stripped back," Heidi explains. She takes Abbey inside the dressing room, which her husband affectionately calls 'The Monster' as it's cluttered with boxes and storage, including her fairtytale wedding dress, and into the stunning laundry room - which has purposely fitted upstairs for easy access.
Sugababes confirm they are working on a brand new albumHeidi's eldest daughter's bedroom is decorated with fairy wallpaper, a feather lamp and a pink tepee for reading, while her youngest has safari print wallpaper and a giant giraffe teddy - which she says echoes their very different personalities. On the third floor, there's a rooftop terrace with an incredible view of the city and an adult's lounge area. "It reminds me of Mary Poppins, because we're in London and you can see all the chimneys," Heidi explains, adding that she likes to bring a pizza and bottle of wine up there with her other half on the weekend.
