Eurostar is unlikely to be reopening its popular direct services to Disneyland Paris any time soon.

The high speed rail service announced last year that it would axe the service in June 2023, blaming the economy and logistical implications of Brexit at the time. While it still offers direct trains to Paris with options to travel to the theme parks via Paris or Lille, the news still came as a blow to families due to the convenience of the service.

Unfortunately, the train firm seems to currently lack the resource to look at reopening the line. Eurostar's chief executive Gwendoline Cazenave told TTG: ""We cannot afford to reopen direct services to Disneyland Paris, as well as the stations in Kent because we need so many resources already in the main stations".

Last year the firm said it would no longer serve either of its Kent stations - Ebbsfleet and Ashford - and there has yet to be a confirmed reopening date for the travel hubs. Still, the good news for families hoping to visit Mickey Mouse's French home is that there are plenty of budget-friendly options to get there, and they don't require too much effort.

For a start, you could still get the Eurostar's direct services to Paris or Lille- and there are sometimes tickets from £39 each way up for grabs - and then get a train from there to Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy where you're instantly at the resort when you step out of the station.

Alternatively, you could fly to Paris. easyJet, Ryanair and British Airways are some of the airlines with cheap fares to the French capital, not to mention that on Skyscanner you can find return flights from £25. If you're flying to Paris-Orly or Paris Charles-De-Gaulle and you're staying at a Disney hotel, there are some free shuttle buses which offer direct transfers you can use - you can find out more on the Disneyland Paris website.

If you're after packages with Disney hotels included, then you may want to check out MagicBreaks which has a host of different offers from £169pp, including transport-inclusive deals from £229pp. Booking direct on the Disney Holidays website can also mean you get exclusive deals or special offers, such as a free year's worth of Disney+ when you book. You can also find out more on disneylandparis.com.

While there are plenty of perks that come with staying at a Disney hotel, if you're not particularly fussed then there are also other deals to be found. For example, Wowcher currently has £199 Christmas breaks which include a hotel stay, park ticket and flights. Meanwhile loveholidays has a series of packages including hotels a short drive from the resort.
