Primark shopper 'traumatised' after trying on two pairs of jeans in fitting room
A Primark shopper was left "traumatised" after as she couldn't find two pairs of trousers that fit in the same size - and documented the whole experience on social media.
Molly, who posts under the username @Mol_Sutty, took to social media declaring she was making a "big-fat complaint to Primark". After she went shopping in the high-street store, she was left shocked at the sizing and fit of some of the clothes.
In the clip, which has gained more than 5,000 likes, she called out sizing discrepancies. The fashionista started off by showing herself being squeezed tight by a a pair of black tapered trousers. The bottoms were a size 12, so it was odd that they barely fit as she's a size 10 in other products. "I nearly passed out trying to get these to shut," she explained. "It wasn't happening, never, no way."
Molly then took a pair of size 10 denim jeans and showed that she was able to zip them up perfectly fine. She even squat down in in them because they fit so well. She joked: "Then Primark, ooo look, size 10. Now I’ll do the maths for you – that’s less than a size 12."
The clip then cut to a shot of her wearing what were advertised as a pair of gym leggings – but looked more like spandex tights. She said that she had been wrong to think she was going to look like a "gym sexy gal" as she didn't like the slick fit or the fact it gave her a "camel toe".
Viral sausage roll debate leaves Brits confused about how to order at GreggsAfter she was done with trousers, she moved on to tops. First, she tried on a silk T-shirt, which she'd imagined would give a cute, elegant look. However, once she put it on, it made her "look like a star in the school play". She added: "My belly jiggled the top – it was that badly fitted." Finally, she tried on a black top in a large – the biggest size they offered – only for it to not even fit over her boobs. And while she facepalmed with frustration, she assured her followers: "So girlies, don’t worry – it happens to us all."
TikTok users were left divided by the clip. Some immediately rushed to the comments to express their own experiences with Primark sizing – but others defended the brand. One user said: "Size 14, but apparently an 18 in Primark." And another argued: "All retailers sizing is off." A third commented: "I range from size 4-16 in Primark when I’m normally a 10 most other places."
A Primark spokesperson said: "The fit and size consistency of our clothing is really important to us and we are continually working to improve and evolve our products to best meet our customer needs."
