Signs Rochelle Humes is gunning to be the next Holly Willoughby after presenter steps down

TV presenter Rochelle Humes is one of the names in the running to take over presenting This Morning after Holly Willoughby has stepped down.

Holly Willoughby announced she would be stepping down from the show after 14 years in a move she explained was 'for her and her family'. In her absence, former pop star Rochelle, who is on the roster of stand-in hosts on the ITV show, is said to be dropping hints she's ready to take on a more full-time role on the show.

Whilst presenting the programme yesterday alongside Craig Doyle, Rochelle's confident and calm demeanour was her way of showing she'd be a perfect replacement for Holly Willoughby, according to body language expert Judi James.

Making her first TV appearance since Holly's announcement, Rochelle was reportedly giving off subtle clues that she was 'carrying' the show and 'keeping it on track' in a potential effort to show she could step up as a more full time presenter, says Judi.

Speaking to Fabulous, Judi says Rochelle gave a strong performance with "wide eyes, raised brows and a smile at the start of the show, next to Craig’s sad look, suggesting she was clearly capable of carrying on professionally despite everything."

Another sign from Rochelle was her commitment to keeping the show on track amid the chaos as Judi explained: "When the comments about Holly continued on the couch, Rochelle again signalled a desire to keep the show on track, saying ‘Of course we do’ about missing Holly, we saw her eyes were actually on the iPad at that point, searching for the next item."

Rochelle also showed she has the making of being a strong partner to presenters like Craig Doyle, as Judie explained: "Rochelle also displayed mirrored poses with Craig as they moved into a seamless double act."

"Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You've been so loyal so supportive and the very best company every day. Richard and Judy said 'we only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers'.

"It's been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much. Holly."
