Manchester United fans will be glad it's the international break after their turbulent start to the season.

Erik ten Hag's side have already lost six games, with Brighton, Crystal Palace and Galatasaray all winning at Old Trafford. United were on the verge of another home defeat to Brentford last Saturday before Scott McTominay saved them with a late brace.

Ten Hag needs results to pick up quickly if he's to become the next great United boss. The Red Devils have struggled for silverware since Sir Alex Ferguson retired a decade ago, with his successors failing to win the Premier League title and Champions League.

With all that in mind, here are the latest headlines from Old Trafford...

Players not happy

United players are "not having" Ten Hag, according to talkSPORT host Alan Brazil. It's been claimed the Dutchman's squad aren't happy with his treatment of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was allowed to leave Old Trafford a year ago, and dropped star Jadon Sancho.

Brazil said: "I know you've got to be careful what you report on - this is only what I heard from a United player who told someone we know very well.

"He said, the players are not having the manager, they're not having him, definitely not. By all accounts they're disgusted at the way he treated Cristiano and they say Sancho is a great guy who works his socks off, so I don't know who to believe to be honest."

What do you make of the situation at Manchester United? Let us know in the comments below!

Glen Johnson believes Mason Mount could be regretting his decision to join United. The England international left Chelsea for Old Trafford during the summer transfer window but is yet to make an impression up north, with fans growing restless.

"At the moment he will be (regretting his decision to join United)," said Johnson. "Manchester United are a very big football club, but you don’t join them with the expectation that you’re going to be part of a team that’s tenth in the Premier League.

"You only want to go there to challenge for major honours, and I know that Chelsea aren’t in a better position at this very moment, but you don’t move to Old Trafford in the expectation that you’re going to struggle. I don’t know why he decided to leave Chelsea, but I’m sure he’s questioning his decision at this very moment."

Friendly win

United defeated Barnsley 3-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Barnsley on Tuesday. The secret game took place at United's Carrington training ground, with Donny van de Beek and Antony both getting minutes against the League One side.

The Red Devils are back in Premier League action a week on Saturday when they travel to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United. Paul Heckingbottom's team are bottom of the Premier League table after picking up just a point from their first eight games.
