Amazon Prime Day has just hours left, meaning that there's only a short while before products from big brands like Shark and Ninja to Uggs and BaByliss return to its normal price. And one brand that has seen massive cuts on the price of its high end products is Philips - with one in particular, a hair removal device, that has over 2,000 reviews and has been described as a "game changer", having £100 off.

The Philips Lumea IPL Hair Removal Advance is an intense pulsed light device (IPL) that uses light technology to prevent hair regrowth on the body and face - of course, it doesn't remove the hair in the first place, you must shave, wax or epilate first. The device, which in the Amazon sale costs £249.99 as opposed to its usual £349.99, claims to reduce hair by 92% in "as little as three treatments" and works by gently pulsing light to the root of the hair, putting the follicle "into a resting phase".

The results of using this over the course of a number of months to a year (2x a week and then once a month) should see the amount of hair your body grows decrease - which for those of us lazy folk who just can't be bothered to deal with stubbly legs, armpits and facial hair week in week out, especially in the summer months, seems like a total godsend. Plus, this dermatologist-developed product also comes with a nifty on-the-go trimmer to target areas needing small touch ups in between treatments.

Now, by using quick flashes of light, you may worry about your eyes being affected while using it - especially on the face - but a handy feature is that it has skin contact sensors to protect your eyes while the flashing process is ongoing, meaning no chemistry goggles are necessary.

While the Philips Lumea IPL Hair Removal device is "not a quick fix", as revealed by some of its shoppers - understandably - a large proportion of people praised the product for not only helping with stubborn hair on legs and other areas, but also those who suffer side effects of PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) like facial hair.

A five-star reviewer of the product - which is said to only be suitable for those who have dark blonde, brown and black hair and fair to medium brown skintone, stated: "This actually works! PCOS-help is here finally," before adding: "For anyone out there suffering with PCOS and facial hair this is a game changer. I have tried many of the cheaper versions of this in the past but nothing worked. I was spending so much time, having to pluck/wax daily, trying everything to remove the facial hair and nothing seemed to work. I have been using this now for about two months, and I can honestly say it really has made a huge difference. Much of the hair is gone, I still have a few stubborn chin hairs but they have turned fair instead of black stubble...

"For women out there with hormonal issues, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) buy this, you won't regret it. It seems like a lot of money but it is worth it. This is an honest review, I am not working for them, being paid etc :D I just hope this will help fellow sufferers like it did me." One downside this shopper revealed was that the device does heat up, causing them to feel a "pinch", although it hasn't ruined the experience for them.

Another wrote: "This is SO GOOD. After reading mixed reviews I decided to give it a go and I am so glad I did. I have PCOS and this has helped treat my face. It is so easy to use and probably takes under two minutes to do the area I need to do. Follow the simple instructions and you will not regret purchasing this. I’m noticing results after a couple of uses."

A third added: "I cannot believe how good this is - a complete game changer! I'd have had my legs waxed every 5-6 weeks but now it's once every 6 months and even then it's not really necessary!"

That being said, one buyer who revealed this product was their "second most expensive beauty buy", explained how it was "not worth the money in my opinion to actually not be a permanent thing as I thought it was", sharing that her hairs have grown back - but white - and that they need to use the device more often than stated as a result.

If Philips isn't really your forte, another brand that is much loved for its hair removal products is Braun, whose IPL Silk-Expert Pro 5 has had a whopping 51% taken off its price on Amazon, meaning that instead of £610, it's £299.99 - it's even seen those who were dedicated to salon-based laser hair removal treatments converted. For a cordless option, Boots' Sensilight Pro with RPL Technology For Permanent Hair Reduction is £375 while SmoothSkin's sleek and chic looking Pure Fit gadget is £269 (down from £299) and can treat your body within only ten minutes.
