Dillon Danis claims he has become "A-List" through Logan Paul boxing feud

Dillon Danis has claimed that the social media activity around his upcoming grudge fight with Logan Pau; has seen him become an "A-List" star in the fight world.

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt has had a large following for years due to his friendship Conor McGregor and a grappling career that saw him signed to a big money deal with Bellator MMA. But he has hit a different stratosphere in recent weeks, attracting billions of views to his activity across Twitter and Instagram, and more than doubling his follower count.

And speaking with comedian Andrew Schulz on his podcast Flagrant, Danis noted that he has become a different type of star, declaring himself "A-List". He and Paul are due to meet on Saturday night at the AO Arena in the co-headliner of Misfits Boxing's Prime Card alongside KSI and Tommy Fury.

Asked by the Netflix star why he is promoting so heavily when he is not receiving pay-per-view points, Danis replied: "I definitely got more popular, I mean now I'm 'A-List'." When the co-hosts laughed at the suggestion he asked why and noted that he feels he has reached that status.

"I'm definitely B-List," he admitted. "Fighters? I'm definitely A-List... If you go on the street I bet you more people know me than any of these guys. Look at it on camera back, every place we go it's 100 pictures, I'm just a bit defensive today, I've been on every show there is."

When one member of the podcast noted that he can barely be classed as a fighter, and is better known for trolling after four years out of action, he clapped back by reminding viewers that he has suffered two very severe knee injuries. "I'm still known, though," he continued, before noting that American football star Nick Chubb's gruesome injury was less serious than what he suffered.

"You can't say that Tom Brady now he's retired, he's not still a football player," Danis added. "People remember my two fights in Bellator every day... Who cares about boxing? It's not even a real fight, it's half a fight. I'm going to go to the UFC, bro, but I've been doing jiu-jitsu for 15 years I could choke these guys out in two seconds, it's so stupid like why are we throwing hands?"
