This Morning viewers were left stunned after Mr Motivator revealed his age.

Derrick Errol Evans, better known as Mr Motivator, rose to fame in the 90s thanks to his workout and fitness sessions on TV. He became a regular on shows such as GMTV where he performed live sessions and answered viewers questions. Mr Motivator made another TV appearance on Tuesday, where he sat down with hosts Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle about mental health.

Yet Josie couldn't believe how old Derrick is. She said: "Mr Motivator, I know you shouldn't speak about somebody's age but I have got to ask how old are you? You don't look any different from when I used to dance along to you on a morning." He replied: "71 next month." A stunned Josie gushed: "You do not look a touch of 71, you look fabulous."

Viewers at home also couldn't believe Mr Motivator's age, and took to social media to share their surprise. One said: "Great to see mr motivator back on the Telly he dosnt age dose he!" Another added: "71? Looking good" Someone else gushed: "He looks great for 71." While a fourth asked: "How does Mr Motivator still look the same as the GMTV days."

In 2000 Mr Motivator left GMTV because his youngest daughter Abigail was having "breathing problems" at the time. He went back to his home country of Jamaica but would return regularly to the UK to make appearances at events. Derrick made a long-awaited return in GMTV in 2009 for a three-week long special to promote public health programme Change4Life.

Mr Motivator moved back to the UK in 2018, and now lives in Manchester with his family after he raffled off his incredible Jamaican mansion for just £23 a ticket. In 2020 he made a huge comeback when he realised home workouts had regained popularity during the coronavirus lockdown. The same year he was awarded an MBE for services to health and fitness as part of the Queen's postponed birthday honours list.

This was after he created online home exercises during the coronavirus lockdown. The years haven't always been easy for Mr Motivator, as he revealed his mental health struggles on This Morning. He also shared that he had been made homeless before.

He shared: "When I was depressed, the one thing that got me out of it was to start focusing on me and start counting my blessings every day. Get up in the morning, you tell yourself you are fabulous, you look in the mirror and tell yourself you are proud of who you are. If you practice being positive, negativity doesn't come into the picture."

When asked how he deals with mental health, he said: "I don't dwell on it. The reason why I don't dwell on being given away at three months of age, being homeless, being a single parent, I didn't dwell on it because they were the foundation stones that made me who I am."
