Amazon Prime Big Deal Days started at midnight with the internet retailer cutting prices on thousands of products ranging from smart tech to fashion. But one of the deals making the biggest splash with shoppers so far sees one of Ninja's newest and most popular kitchen gadgets reduced by a whopping £110, taking it down to the lowest ever price it's been sold for in the UK.

Taking the traditional air fryer technology that made Ninja a household name, the Speedi 10-in-1 Rapid Cooker introduced an innovative fast-cook function to make it even more versatile. The product was so popular when it launched earlier in the year that, even at its launch price of £249, it crashed Ninja's website as foodies snapped up the gadget.

But in one of the most notable of the first volley of Big Deal Day discounts, the top-of-the-range airfryer has now been reduced to £139.99 - £60 less than the best deal last Amazon Prime Day.

As with the brand's other popular air fryer and grill models, home cooks can use the multi-function cooker to create a wide variety of different types of dishes, with the gadget acting as a steamer, grill, air fryer, roaster, dehydrator, saute pan and slow cooker. But fans and reviewers alike particularly praise the Speedi mode which gives the much-loved gadget its name.

The Mirror's Narin Flanders used the gadget to make family-friendly meals for a week and gave the Speedi a five star rating, describing its fast-cook mode as a 'game changer' for midweek meals after she found she was able to create a range of fresh, home-cooked dinners in as little as 15 minutes.

In her review she said: I've found this the least intimidating and most versatile kitchen gadget I've ever owned - and you don't have to be a Masterchef to get great results with it.

"The Speedi is basically the kitchen gadget for people who don't have the time or inclination to regularly use kitchen gadgets."

Shoppers wary of the Speedi's fast-cook function or looking for a slightly bigger option for cooking for a large family can also pick up the Ninja Foodi Max in today's Amazon sale, with the 3.8 litre capacity fryer and grill reduced by 26% to £199. Other premium brand air fryers have also seen considerable price cuts including the Breville Halo Rotisserie and Air Fryer down 44% to £94.99 and the Russell Hobbs Satisfry which at £74.99 is 56% and another popular model now being sold at its cheapest ever UK price.

In recent years air fryers have become a regular sight in home kitchens, helping people both cut rising bills and eat more healthily. While premium products from the likes of Ninja and Instant Pot have their devoted fans, more budget-friendly brands like Tower have become increasingly popular with shoppers happy with more compact options.

The Tower T17021 is an ideal option for shoppers who perhaps have seen the air fryer hype but aren't sure if they'll get enough use out of the gadget to make it worthwhile. It's got a 4.3L capacity and is reduced to £38.80, 45% off its recommended retail price. Meanwhile the brand's Vortx 9L is now £99.99 and has similar duo basket design to the Foodi Max at half the price even with based on both options' sale prices.

Elsewhere in the Amazon Prime sales, a wide range of big-name brands have reduced prices on some of their most popular products, with Olay, Shark, Elizabeth Arden, Samsung and ghd all included in the first deals of the sale.

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days run until 11.59pm tomorrow (Wednesday) and are available to all Amazon Prime members. Amazon Prime usually costs £8.99 a month but shoppers can sign up for a 30-day free trial to get the deals alongside extras including Amazon Music, free Deliveroo Plus and Prime Video without paying a penny.
