We've already had one Amazon Prime Day this year, but shoppers will be seeing a second round of savings thanks to Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, running from October 10 until the end of October 11.

Amazon has traditionally held only one Prime Day annually during the summer months, but in recent years they've added another sales event in October, giving shoppers more chances to get better prices on electronics, clothing, home goods and more.

With Black Friday only a few weeks away on November 24, you might be wondering which event to shop for the best deals. Should you chase the discounts being offering during the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, or wait until Black Friday to see what other retailers have on offer?

Which products will be on sale during Prime Big Deal Days?

There is a slight catch to the Prime Big Deal Days which is, as the name suggests, you have to have an Amazon Prime membership in order to take advantage of the deals. The good news is that you can sign up to a 30 day trial of Amazon Prime for free.

Since Prime Big Deal Days is solely held by Amazon, many of the best discounts will be for Amazon devices. Some of Amazon's best own devices to keep an eye out for on Prime Dig Deal Days are the Amazon Fire TV and the Amazon Echo.

In fact, some products have already been reduced - we've had a look to see some of the best early offers, which include discounts on Ring doorbells, electric toothbrushes, and Kindles. These items will likely also drop down to similar prices during Black Friday, but there’s no reason to wait until then to make a purchase.

If you're looking for discounts on products sold by a retailer not on Amazon, you will have to wait for Black Friday but it's also a good idea to check other websites during Prime Big Deal Days, as occasionally retailers will try and beat Amazon's best price.

Both Prime Dig Deal Days and Black Friday will offer significant discounts on a wide range of products, but Amazon's website will have the best savings for Prime members.

What should you look for on Black Friday?

The main advantage of Black Friday is the sheer frequency of retailers that will be participating. Online retailers like Currys and Boots are expected to release impressive deals.

Black Friday also has a bigger buying window time - the event used to last for just one day but now sales often last for the whole weekend and, in some cases, the whole month. Prime Big Deal Days has expanded to a two day sales event this year.

If you're worried about not getting the best deals we'll be covering Prime Big Deal Days, as well the best deals for Black Friday as they released, to make sure you're getting the best discounts possible.

It can be a bit of a gamble whether you shop on the Prime Deal Days or wait until Black Friday, but it ultimately comes down to how much you are willing to spend on a product and how long you are wanting to wait.
