Corrie's Sally Dynevor starts new weekend job as Tim Metcalfe fate hangs in balance

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has landed a swiss new job, and it's got nothing to do with acting.

The 60-year-old, who has played Sally Metcalfe on the ITV soap for over three decades, recently completed her first shift as a tour guide of its incredible set in Salford. As one of Coronation Street's beloved veterans, it's hardly a surprise Sally has been recruited to show folks around its legendary cobbles.

“I’ve been on the street forever and ever and ever and ever," the Dancing on Ice star told visitors to the set last month. "1986, I started, and I married Kevin, and now I’m married to Tim. I’ve got my cross to bear.”

Sally is showing Corrie fans around its studios on weekends, as part of Corrie's VIP Star Tours. Tickets, which are £45 per person, give visitors the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have Weatherfield's 'locals' take them to all its iconic spots. "It is the best day ever!" she said as she escorted delighted guests along the cobbles. "Isn't it gorgeous?"

It seems being a tour guide could have been Sally's calling in another life, with the actress receiving rave reviews for giving guests the VIP experience. “As the day came to a close, fans left with their heads filled with memories, hearts full of gratitude, and cameras packed with unforgettable moments," a spokesperson for the Corrie Experience said.

Sally, who is the mother of Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor in real life, also signed autographs and took selfies with the excited visitors. Her enthusiasm notably isn't being shared by her on-screen persona, whose husband Tim Metcalfe is the latest character to be targeted by serial killer Stephen Reid's reign of terror.

With filming for Christmas storylines already underway, any visitors to the Corrie set in October will also get the chance to see the street decorated for the festive season. As well as meeting a surprise cast member from the soap, visitors will see the real Weatherfield production, pop into iconic locations like The Kabin and Platts' family home, step into the Rovers Return and Roy's Rolls replicas, and discover amazing props and costumes from the show's history.

Other Corrie stars to have given tours in the past include Sam Aston, who plays Chesney Winter-Brown, Chris Gascoyne, who plays Peter Barlow, and Julia Goulding, who plays Shona Platt.
