Photos from Tupac's death scene were released to a jury

Tupac Shakur ’s body lying fully naked after his death at a Las Vegas morgue is one of several gruesome images shown to the panel that decided to indict gangster Duane "Keffe D" Davis for murder last week.

Tupac was photographed after specialists failed to save him from a raft of bullets fired from a rival gang member’s car. The high-resolution pictures, entered into cover evidence, show the stitches where UMC doctors had desperately tried to revive the rapper after bullets severed vital organs from the attack on September 7, 1996.

As an editorial decision, The Mirror has decided not to include the graphic images in the article. The images paint a devastating insight into how the iconic music artist and social justice warrior was murdered following a casino fight with rival gang members.

Insiders say that two presenting Chief Deputy District Attorneys Marc DiGiacomo and Binu Palal, made the “tough decision” to include the graphic photos to demonstrate the “sickening damage” caused by the bullets - and to finally dismiss any conspiracies that the rapper secretly is alive. Other harrowing images included blood-soaked seats from where the rapper and Death Row Records boss and driver Marion "Suge" Knight had been fired upon for several seconds by a Glock pistol.

Jurors were asked to review the devastating scene where ‘Pac lay bleeding and unconscious after Keefe D and three associates, Terrence “Bubble Up” Brown, the driver; Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson; and DeAndre “Dre” Smith. Other than Keefe, all other men are now dead.

Huge blood stains are seen on the Las Vegas strip where Tupac lay before losing consciousness. The evidence was handed over by the District Attorney’s team, who spent months building their case against Keffe D.

During the questioning of Tupac's lifelong friend and fellow rapper Malcolm Greenidge spoke with the DAs about the death. One asked: "This is going to be kind of a silly question and I apologise for it. Since that day, have you ever heard from Mr Shakur?”

Greenidge, also known as rap star E.D.I Mean, affirmed: "I have not." Jurors were also shown a death certificate and heard from a medical examiner and a detective present at Tupac's autopsy to confirm the death.

Clark County forensic pathologist medical examiner Dr. Lisa Gavin spoke about the autopsy report conducted by Dr. Robert Jordan in 1996. She confirmed the cause of death while showing jurors how bullets had entered Tupac’s "chest cavity, damaged the right lung, and then ended up just in the anterior aspect of the chest beneath the sternal notch".

Gavin also details how another gunshot "perforates into the thigh and then goes upwards into the abdominal cavity, injures several of the small intestines and then comes to rest in the anterior abdominal wall". Another shocking revelation was that doctors had "to evacuate almost two litres worth of blood" from the wound before they could even try to begin procedures.

Gavin confirmed too that the rapper "died of multiple gunshot wounds". Insiders say the Clark County DA’s office decided to bring out the photographs to detail the gruesome nature of the death.

A Las Vegas source said: "This case was meticulously presented to the jurors and it was not an easy decision to show the morgue image. However given that there was no video or images from the scene, these photos allowed jurors to see the devastating nature of the injuries and the frantic work doctors did to try and save him.

"The pathologist’s evidence broke down how Tupac’s death was beyond doubt a homicide while giving jurors an idea of Tupac’s final moments alive," the source continued. "And another key factor in this court hearing was for the DAs to absolutely make it clear that Tupac was not alive and had deceased that night. The medical evidence and even the testimony from EDI were on the record to clear up any doubts."

For decades, speculation has run rife that Tupac was smuggled out of Vegas with Suge Knight even claiming his pal was still alive.
