On Monday Las Vegas police searched a home in connection with the the murder of Tupac Shakur.

The police told The Mirror: "LVMPD can confirm a search warrant was served in Henderson, Nevada on July 17, 2023, as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation. We will have no further comment at this time."

The mystery surrounding the rapper's death has had the world gripped since he was fatally shot in 1996.

Following a boxing match on September 7, 1997, Tupac and his bodyguards were reported involved in a fight with a man, Orlando Anderson, around 8:30 PM. From there, he was supposed to head to Club 662 after the fight with Mike Tyson.

By 11:15pm, Tupac was was riding in the passenger seat of a 1996 BMW 750 Sedan that was being driven by Marion "Suge" Knight. A white Cadillac pulled up beside Suge's vehicle.

From the back of the car, the shooter rolled down the window and took fire. That's when both of them were shot at 13 times. Tupac was hit three times in the chest and shrapnel went by Suge's head.

Frank Alexander, one of Tupac's bodyguards, said in the documentary, Before I Wake, that one car from their group followed the Cadillac, but he didn't hear from those in the vehicle.

After Suge made a U-turn and drove them both a mile away, the police found it on the Las Vegas Strip.

The men were transported by ambulance to the University Medical Centre. While Suge was released from medical care the very next day, Tupac continued to undergo treatment and operations. During this time, his right lung was removed as a result of internal bleeding.

A few days later on September 13, Tupac died as a result of his injuries.

The University Medical Centre answering machine told those who called: "Tupac Shakur has passed away at UMC at approximately 4:03 p.m. Physicians have listed the cause of death as respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary arrest."

Much speculation and debate still surrounds the murder's mystery.

Though he had a confrontation with Tupac prior to the shooting, Orlando Anderson was not charged. In the years following Tupac's death, Orlando filed a lawsuit against Suge Knight and Tupac's estate in regards to the scuffle that had taken place. Tupac's mother countered with a wrongful death lawsuit.
