Flight attendant slams 'disgusting' toilet habit that bothers the whole crew

Love it or hate it, flying is part and parcel of travelling when you're holidaying abroad. Many people find the close proximity to other passengers and crew daunting, and debates around flying etiquette often swirl around on social media as people argue over what's appropriate while on a plane.

Due to the nature of the enclosed space, those around you will know what you're up to, whether it's reading, sleeping or even going to the toilet. But one flight attendant has slammed the 'gross' habit passengers have when it comes to flying, and it involves going to the toilet.

The 42-year-old cabin crew member shared her pet peeve in a video on TikTok and people have been shocked at the bad habits people have.

Natalie Magee, from Colorado, revealed her gripes online, with one being when passengers don't wash their hands after going to the toilet. She said she has "so many pet peeves" but most come from people's bathroom habits.

"There are so many [pet peeves], like when people don't shut the bathroom door or leave the bathroom a mess. Also when you can hear it flush but not the sink so you know they didn't wash their hands," she said in her video.

Working in the industry for a few years, Natalie has noticed the little habits people have - and has slammed them for their gross behaviours. The unpleasant and unhygienic toilet act is something she thinks passengers feel they can get away with undetected, but she has revealed that the flight attendants always know when they haven't washed their hands.

It's not just not closing the door or not washing their hands either, as Natalie also revealed she hates it when people visit the toilet mid-air whilst barefoot. "Please, nobody take their shoes off at all! Disgusting," one TikTok user wrote in response to Natalie's revelation.

Natalie urged travellers to think of the aircraft as their home during their journey. She said: "We would love it if people treated the space as their home and were tidy and respectful."
