Superdrug shoppers rush to buy £5 perfume that 'smells just like Black Opium'

Superdrug shoppers have been rushing to snap up a £5 dupe for a much-loved designer perfume from YSL. The health and beauty retailer is selling a "sweet" scent that customers are comparing to the popular Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium perfume, but for £87 less.

The Layering Lab Exotic Eau de Toilette is priced at only £5 for a 100ml bottle. It has received plenty of glowing reviews from shoppers who claim it smells similar to the expensive YSL scent. Black Opium would usually set you back £92 on the Boots website, so Superdrug's perfume offers a pretty good saving.

Right now, the bargain perfume dupe is part of a deal where customers can snap up two of Superdrug's 'Indulgent Bathing' products for less. This means you can purchase one bottle of the Exotic Eau de Toilette and get another for half the price - hooray!

With several five-star reviews, the Layering Lab scent seems to be a hit on the Superdrug website.

One happy customer said: "I wasn't expecting much for the price, however this is such a lovely fragrance. I don't know how many people have complimented me on it and now I've bought it for them too. It's similar to Black Opium so a good dupe in my opinion".

Another shopper pointed out that the Superdrug scent doesn't last as long as the YSL version, but still liked it. The reviewer penned: "If you like YSL Black Opium it's probably a safe bet you'll like this, it's not bang on, and it obviously doesn't have the same staying power, but if your bank account doesn't like YSL prices it's not a bad Little dupe, pleasant enough!"
