Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has revealed what he said to Aaron Rodgers on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Rodgers is recovering from an Achilles tendon injury that is expected to rule the New York Jets quarterback out for the remainder of the season. The 39-year-old had only taken part in four plays in his NFL debut for the Jets following his trade from the Green Bay Packers.

Despite not being expected to return to the field during the 2023 regular season, Rodgers was showing his support for his teammates on Sunday. The veteran quarterback was at the stadium using crutches to help walk, whilst wearing an air cast on his left foot.

Before Sunday’s game against the Chiefs, which was won 23-20 by the reigning Super Bowl champions, Rodgers spoke to Kelce on the Jets sidelines. And now Kelce has revealed what was said between the pair.

Kelce was speaking on the latest episode of his " New Heights" podcast, which he co-hosts alongside his brother, Jason Kelce, a center for the Philadelphia Eagles. And it was Kelce’s brother who brought up the subject of the meeting with Rodgers, and asked what was said between the duo on the sidelines.

“We talked a little bit of the 'stash work, how powerful this thing can be,” said Kelce on the podcast, referring to the moustaches currently being sported by both himself and Rodgers.

Kelce added: “I didn't shoot him a text or anything like that, I just wanted to go up to him and tell him how excited everybody was and how bummed out we were he got banged up and needed to get surgery.

“Watching 'Hard Knocks,' it was electric to see what Aaron Rodgers was going to do with that team. Not to say they are not going to be great because he’s not there, but having Aaron there was going to be that much more entertaining for fans of the game, like I am.

“You hate to see the great ones go down with injury. I went up to him to tell him we were all hurting for him and hopefully he gets healthy quick.”

Rodgers was asked about his chat with Kelce while on "The Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday. Rather than give details on what he said to the Chiefs tight end, Rodgers was rather cryptic with his response.

“I think some things need to be left on the field. It’s actually a better story, probably, left up to the imagination," said Rodgers on the show, as some fans surely speculated the noted Swiftie was asking Kelce about his new rumoured girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

“I saw some stories of different things and speculation of what we were talking about, but I’ve known him for a long time and it was just a quick chat.”
