Ferne McCann loves taste of her 'sweet' breast milk but fiancé refuses to try it

Ferne McCann has revealed that she has drank her daughter's breast milk, hailing the substance as similar to "liquid gold."

The 33-year-old, best known for starring on The Only Way Is Essex, appeared on Steph's Packed Lunch on Wednesday for a chat about life since giving birth to her second child. Ferne welcomed Finty Francis with fiancé Lorrie Haines in July, nearly six years after the arrival of her first baby, Sunday, in 2017.

At the beginning of the Channel 4 interview, host Steph McGovern asks Ferne for an update on life as mum to a newborn. After confirming that Finty is doing "good," the ITV reality star adds that she may need to feed her in the middle of the conversation.

Steph, who welcomed her own daughter with her mystery partner in 2019, then asks Ferne if she had ever tried her own breast milk.

"Of course I have!" the I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here star incredulously replied. "I'm just curious. It's like Liquid Gold. I've come up with all sorts of ideas. I was like, ‘Could you make breast milk into ice cream?' And then it got me thinking, ‘I actually want to see how well it froths up’, because Lorri loves his macchiato and he's very particular, so imagine if it froths so I could slip a little bit into his morning coffee."

Ferne then goes on to hail the benefits of breast milk, which she says she was told by nurses to use as a First Aid remedy.

"Finty, when she was born, had a little bit of weeping eye, and the community midwives are like, 'Put a little bit of breast milk on,'" the model explained. "If Lorrie, had a blister, I would suggest squeezing a little bit onto the blister, it'd be healed in moments."

Steph, 41, jumps in at this point to add, "I should clarify, we don't know if this works," to which Ferne agrees, "No, oh my goodness...no." The Brentwood native then describes the taste of her breast milk, adding, "It's quite sweet...it tastes...I kind of want to say, it's not gone-off..." Her review fails to win over Steph, who's quick to reply, "You're not selling it!"

Ferne also revealed that she doesn't understand why fiancé Lorrie, whom she met on Instagram, has no intentions of sipping on her breast milk. "Lorrie said he'd never try it...Why? It's feeding our baby. She absolutely loves it."

Ferne shares her five-year-old daughter Sunday with ex partner Arthur Collins, who was sentenced to 20 years in jail in December 2017 after being convicted of grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm following a nightclub acid attack in April of that same year.
