'I underwent the world's most painful surgery so I could be four inches taller'
A Colombian influencer has put himself through an "excruciating" limb-lengthening surgical procedure to boost his height.
Yeferson Cossio, 29, shared video footage of the operation to his 10.9 million followers on Instagram. He said he found out about the procedure having experienced a problem with his legs previously.
Yet he said the decision to undergo treatment was solely for aesthetic reasons. The influencer lives in Antioquia, Colombia, and said: “Two years ago, I had an issue with my legs that I don’t really want to talk about because it’s very personal. There was a lot of speculation and conspiracy-type theories, which I didn’t really care for.

Yeferson underwent the operation for purely aesthetic reasons (Jam Press)“But one of the things that had the most impact on me was to do with leg stretching. I looked into it, met with some people, and found that, yes, it exists.” He added: “I got it into my head that I wanted to do it.”
According to Cossio, the operation is one of the most expensive and painful procedures anyone can endure. He has never felt particularly short but wanted to become a little bit taller. Allegedly the procedure can make someone grow between 5cm and 10cm taller than they were.

Cossio stated: “I'm 1.77m (5’8”). Reaching 1.87m (6’1”) seemed too much to me, but I'm going to stay around 1.83m (6’).” He added: “Just as it’s the most painful operation, it is also one of the most expensive.” The popular influencer reportedly paid between £39,915 and £139,688 for the treatment. His surgeon added that the operation typically is used to adjust malformations that leave one limb longer than the other or when a patient loses part of a limb due to an accident.

The video of Cossio’s treatment has gone viral on his Instagram page with nearly 320,000 views and over 6,000 comments. He accompanied the clip with the message: “I underwent the most painful surgery in the entire world. Would you do it?” One follower asked: “And when will his brain grow?”
Another commented: “Vanity at its best! All the money in the world couldn’t make this guy end up being happy.” Someone else wrote: “They have so much money they don't know what to spend it on... and so they do this nonsense.” Samantha said: “That's just a reflection of the emptiness you feel inside that not even money, surgery, or sex can fill.”
Laura remarked: “Incredible that he wants to be taller and not smarter.” Matias commented: “My legs hurt just thinking about the pain. Have a good recovery, take care of yourself.”
