MAIN - BUILD 'Money-mad' Tyson Fury compares multi-million pound fortune to 'chicken feed' after meeting mega-rich Saudis

Tyson Fury's dad believes the boxing superstar has "gone money-mad".

John Fury says Tyson, 35, was left "bothered" and feeling "inept" after meeting mega-rich Saudi Arabians and realising his multi-million pound fortune is "chicken feed" compared to their fortunes.

And he revealed his 6ft 9in son - who yesterday announced he will fight Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed heavyweight superfight in the Middle Eastern country - has now set himself the goal of becoming the world's richest boxer.

John, 59, said: "He's gone round and seen them and thought 'hang on, I've got chicken feed compared to these boys, and I think it's bothered him because he's realised his money isn't a lot of money.

"A lot of money to you, a lot of money to me, I'll never see anything like that, I wouldn't see the small change off it, I wouldn't want to. But that's where he's at now. He's moved onto the money goal because the Saudis have inspired him to make more money."

WBC champ Tyson, nicknamed the Gypsy King, already has an estimated net worth of around £130million. And he is now preparing to fight UFC star Francis Ngannou in another money-spinning crossover clash in Saudi Arabia on October 28.

John, who starred in the family's Netflix show 'At Home With The Fury's', told the Rob Moore podcast: "All of sudden, click, he's gone money mad, you know, thinking he can compete with the Saudis.

"That's how his mind works, he wants to be on the same level as them boys! Being around people with trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars, it's going to make you think about money yourself. They have made Tyson feel inept with his few quid!" That's why he wants more. It's only because they've put it in his head and he thinks 'hang on, I've got nothing'. Compared to them he hasn't got nothing, do you know what I'm saying, so he wants to be thinking now 'I could probably be on these mens level'. Good luck with that one, but that's his mentality."

John added: "It ain't about the money because he couldn't spend the money he's got now already. But he just thinks 'OK, I'm the best heavyweight in the world, I'm gonna be the richest heavyweight in the world. I'm gonna be the richest boxer out there. He wants to be known as the richest boxer and take Floyd Mayweather's title off him, but in a different way. That's how his mind ticks."
