Love is Blind fans rage over contestant JP as he has been coined a "walking red flag" after telling his bride-to-be Taylor Rue criticizing her makeup and telling her she looked "fake" when they first met with her "caked up face and fake eyelashes."

In the reality show Love is Blind 15 single men and 15 women are seeking to find love based on personality. For 10 days the contestants get to know one another through "pods" where they cannot see each other and can only speak through a speaker. After building a connection, couples that pair off get engaged and have a 28-day trial after they meet face-to-face to decide if they want to get married.

On season five of the hit Netflix series JP - whose full name is Jared Pierce - sparked controversy from fans as he shared insensitive comments about his partner's makeup during the first time they met in person. During an awkward conversation in bed on their honeymoon, JP told Taylor: "'I understand you tried to present yourself and look as best as you could, but I feel like if you presented yourself like this [naturally], without any makeup it would have been better," he continued: "It felt like you were fake."

To which Taylor replied: "That's why the communication has been off?" And the 32-year-old firefighter admitted that her full-glam makeup look was part of the reason he acted differently in person. He said: "That's what started it off. You had a caked-up face [and] fake eyelashes. I'm being honest and I'm sorry that's so hard to hear. You presented fake stuff…A lot of makeup…I had make up all over my jacket."

This comment asking to control how she presented herself struck a chord with Taylor as she told him that refuses to stop wearing makeup because of his opinion. She told JP: "You didn't know what I looked like, and I wanted to feel and look my best for the first time seeing you. Women put on makeup because they want to feel pretty. A lot of girls and women do that."

After the confrontation, Taylor stormed out of the room and slept alone. The next morning she decided that she no longer wanted to pursue a relationship with JP and called off their the engagement as he was not the person she fell in love with in the pods. She told her ex-fiancé: "In the pods, it was genuine. In here, I just feel so uncomfortable, it feels so forced. I keep having to drag things out of you and the whole makeup thing isn't why our emotional connection went out the window."

Fans of the show immediately took to Taylor's side flooding her Instagram with sweet, supportive comments and applauding her decision to leave JP. One fan commented: "your makeup is FIREEEE wear all of it - the right man would love you with or without it" Another added: "You were too good for him! So proud of you for walking away from that situation!" And a third wrote: "You handled that situation with JP like a mature and grounded lady. He didn't deserve you."
