Arnold Schwarzenegger threw crying daughter's shoes into fire for 'life lesson'

Arnold Schwarzenegger has opened up about his unusually parenting methods that he used on his four children.

The Terminator actor shares Christopher, 26, Patrick, 30, Christina, 31, and Katherine, 33 with his ex Maria Shriver and while he was raising his children he practiced a harsh method which he claims was necessary as a "life lesson." He revealed that he once threw his daughter Katherine's shoes into a fire because she left them to stand in front of the fireplace, despite him warning her not to.

Sharing his story, he mentioned how Katherine now uses the same parenting methods that she once hated on her child Lyla. "You could talk to them about what they liked about their upbringing because they have very humorous stories," Arnold started.

"The first one is Katherine ... As a matter of fact, Katherine comes over with (her three-year-old daughter) Lyla and she says, 'Lyla, I told you already not to put the shoes there. Keep your shoes on or you put them away, but you don't leave them there by the stand in front of the fireplace because you know what Daddy did?'

"'When I left my shoes there twice? The third time, he burned them in front of me and I cried,'" Arnold said as he retold the story. When asked if he actually burnt his daughter's shoes, he told People, grinning: "Yes, absolutely. Now uses the same methods which she cried over and that she complained about.”

Arnold also revealed that he once furiously threw his son Patrick's mattress out the window because the youngster didn't make his bed. "I opened up the door to the balcony, picked up the mattress and threw it down with the bedsheets, the pillows, everything. I said, don't ever make someone come in and clean your room, clean your shower or make your bed," he shared. "I said, 'Because I taught you how to make the bed.'"

The parenthood tales come after Arnold was pictured hanging out with his secret son Joseph Baena. Joseph was born after Arnold an affair with the family housekeeper, Mildred Baena. Mildred gave birth to her son just five days after Arnold's then-wife Maria Shriver gave birth to their son Christopher.

The 25-year-old bodybuilder and aspiring actor recently took to Instagram to give his followers a glimpse of his training results and fans couldn't believe how much he resembles 76-year-old Arnold.
