Brits hoping for one last glimpse of summer could be hit with balmy temperatures in the coming days - with parts of the UK predicted to be hotter than Greece.

Forecasters announced it could feel "very warm" at the start of next month as the heat has already started to creep up this week. It comes after the northern and western regions faced strong winds and torrential rain from Storm Agnes. Luckily, the weather is expected to brighten up even more on Sunday, with the weather expected to be better here than in Corfu.

According to Netweather forecaster Jo Farrow, some parts of England could experience highs of up to 25C. She explained: "There will be more clouds here but also some warmer air caught up. It could feel quite warm for parts of England on Sunday, possibly very warm in the southeast, around 21 to 25C."

Moreover, Netweather's "feels like" data - which shows how hot it will actually feel based on other weather conditions such as humidity and wind - suggests Brits could bask in sunshine next week, reports Daily Star. The warmth is expected to come in the south-east of England, with Monday (October 2) the peak. Kent will see the best of the weather with 24C feeling more like 28C in Canterbury - making it warmer than Corfu where the mercury will hit 23C (feeling more like 27C).

Along the south coast 22C in Folkestone and Eastbourne will feel like 27C, and the same temperature in Southampton and Portsmouth will feel more like 26C. Londoners can expect highs of 24C on Monday afternoon, feeling more like 27C. Temperatures will struggle to reach 20C elsewhere in the country and people in Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England can expect the mercury to hover in the mid to low-teens.

Exacta Weather forecaster James Madden said we can expect "another spell of Indian Summer weather and ample sunshine... as high pressure nudges in across our shores and brings another period of very warm temperatures" from the end of this week. He also explained that the upcoming warm spell could make September "the hottest on record" based on the Central England Temperature - a monthly average surface air temperature reading taken in the Midlands.
