My Mum, Your Dad's Roger takes big family step with new love Janey
There's been a significant step already taken by one of My Mum, Your Dad's most loved-up couples.
Roger Hawes' relationship with co-star Janey Smith appears to going from strength to strength and it doesn't seem that even distance is keeping them apart. The 58-year-old postman from Derbyshire and Janey, who hails from West Sussex, clearly aren't bothered by the hundreds of miles between them.
He cutely declared that he simply gets in his car and 'smiles all the way down' and now she's been hitting the road after heading off to meet his family. In a recent Instagram post, Roger revealed that he introduced Janey to them in his hometown. Accompanying a sweet picture of the couple at a restaurant, he wrote: "Showing @janeybombshell the local spots with the family."
He also shared a video of the couple enjoying a meal with his family, OK! Magazine report. The post was met with an outpouring of love from Roger's followers. One fan commented: "I am loving my feed being flooded with you guys and the kids." Another expressed their admiration for the couple saying: "So cute, my fave couple on the show, so glad to see your still loving life together."
Roger, a participant on the show 'My Mum, Your Dad' - often referred to as ' Love Island for single parents' - shared his emotional journey of finding love again after losing his wife, Joanna, to cancer 18 months prior. He recounted the heartbreaking story of how she went to bed one night and never woke up.

This seemingly innocuous spot later turned out to be melanoma. "We were on holiday in Italy and I just looked behind her ear, and it was irritating her - just a little spot behind her ear," Roger shared, visibly moved by the memory.
"I advised her to get it checked out when we returned home, which she did. She received medical attention promptly, and it was diagnosed as melanoma. However, unbeknownst to her at the time, the cancer had already spread to her brain." Viewers of the show were deeply touched as they witnessed Roger's first attempt at dating in 34 years, where he developed feelings for Janey over the course of the two-week series.
In an uplifting turn of events, Roger and Janey confirmed via an Instagram post earlier this week that their relationship is "still going strong" post-show. Accompanying a photo of the couple smiling broadly on a sandy beach, Roger announced: "It's been hard to keep it a secret, but the wait is finally over - me and the beautiful @janeybombshell are still going strong and have never been better since." In a heartfelt conclusion, he added: "We couldn't be happier together, and it wouldn't be possible without @ itv."
