Jamie Lynn Spears might have made a mistake during her first dance on Dancing With The Stars, Tuesday.

The sister of world-famous singer Britney Spears danced the tango with her professional partner Alan Bersten and danced to Don't Call Me Up (Zac Samuel Remix) by Mabel. Jamie Lynn and Alan received a score of 15, with judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli each giving them five points. But even though it wasn't one of the lower scores of the night, Jamie Lynn seemed to be apologetic to her partner.

At the end of their dance, when Alan dips Jamie Lynn and the music stops before she's lifted back up she seems to say "I'm sorry" to Alan. It's not clear what exactly she was apologising for, the Zoey 101 star mentioned that she's her "own worst enemy" when it comes to criticising herself. Judge Derek Hough reassured Jamie Lynn that she was "better than [she] thinks."

In her intro video, Jamie Lynn shared her reasons why she was participating in the show. "I'm here to show my children there's nothing more rewarding than being afraid to fail and doing it anyway," she said, "I need to do something I would normally never do."

Alan was excited to be working with the Nickelodeon star. "I remember watching her as a kid," he said.

Jamie Lynn explained she did traditional dance and cheerleading growing up. The video also showed that the duo were practicing and rehearsing in Louisiana, where Jamie Lynn and her family live.

While practicing, Jamie Lynn said Alan is very supportive but can be tough. The actress added: "In my family, we had a lot of tough love so I could take it."

This line seemed to stand out, as the Spears family has been in the news a lot recently. Besides eldest daughter Britney's divorce from her husband Sam Asghari, the Crossroads star's strained relationship with her family has taken over headlines, especially her relationship with her sister.

Britney hit out at Jamie Lynn, said that during her conservatorship, Jamie Lynn was not supportive. Jamie Lynn wrote a book, Things I Should Have Said: Family, Fame, and Figuring It Out, that was criticised for seeming to use Britney's struggles to promote her book.

Britney meanwhile has been showing off her dancing skills on Instagram, most recently sharing a video on the social platform of her dancing while twirling butcher knives. Reportedly, the Circus singer was aware that her sister would be joining the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, and she approved.
