Arsenal are out for revenge on Wednesday night as they host Everton in the Premier League.

The Toffees caused one of the upsets of the season in early February by defeating the league leaders 1-0, kicking off a run of three top-flight games without a win for the Gunners. Arsenal have recovered from those setbacks and remain top of the table with a two-point advantage over Manchester City having played one game fewer.

Mikel Arteta's side defeated Aston Villa and Leicester to return to winning ways and can extend their lead in midweek when Manchester City are in FA Cup action. Without further ado, here are the latest headlines around Emirates Stadium.

Wright sends Saliba message

Ian Wright has urged Arsenal to focus their attention on tying down William Saliba to a new contract.

The Frenchman, 21, has enjoyed a breakout season for the Gunners after spending three years away from the club on loan. His partnership with Gabriel has been the foundation of Arsenal's success this season and he has blossomed into one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.

There is cause for concern, however, as Saliba is out of contract in the summer of 2024. There is the option to extend this for another year, but Wright is desperate for Emirates Stadium chiefs to work overtime and ensure Saliba extends his stay by penning a new deal.

Gary Neville claims Arsenal are still a cut above Manchester United despite their rivals claiming the first silverware of the season.

The Red Devils defeated Newcastle at Wembley Stadium on Sunday to win the Carabao Cup. The Old Trafford faithful are hoping this could be the first part of an unprecedented quadruple, as they are also going strong in the Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup.

However, the Gunners remain in the driving seat in the Premier League, sitting eight points above United with 14 games to play. And Neville, who won eight league titles with the Red Devils, insists his former club are "not close to Arsenal or Man City" after they lifted the Carabao Cup.

Martinez makes Inter admission

Lautaro Martinez gave a downbeat verdict on Inter Milan after his side were beaten 1-0 by Bologna on Sunday to prompt speculation over his future.

The Argentine striker, who won the World Cup last December, has regularly been linked with Arsenal in the past and has impressed this season with 16 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions. It was only two seasons ago that he was lifting the Serie A trophy with his Inter teammates, but they now find themselves a whopping 18 points behind runaway leaders Napoli.

Martinez held little back with a frank verdict on Inter's failings after Sunday's loss, perhaps catching the attention of the Emirates Stadium hierarchy in the process.
